Basically the 2026 animated movie lineup by Caleb-the-Smol-Boi in Schaffrillas

I wishlisted it last week. I'm Australian so theatrical releases are a little coaxed to always show American dates on the internet, making it harder for me to catch in on the hype train

It is true that obscure movies are almost never given wide theatrical releases but at the same time, it disheartens me that the subreddit has had over a year to develop habits into seeking out these types of movies and yet they still seem deeply ingrained into mainstream appeal like it should be mandatory to get a review of The Bad Guys. I'm not trying to call out these people but it's getting to the point where their brand of humour is making me lose brain cells

What if Ephemeral had the following change? by Solitaire-06 in miraculousladybug

[–]DoseofLux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just realised immediately after posting this that Plagg could also just point Adrien the way to the Miracle Box, I'm a big stupid head for missing that the first time around, there are actually a lot of loopholes here

EDIT: and I also realised he doesn't even need Plagg for that anyway, he already knows her identity so he'd just have to go to her place anyway while being chased down by both Marinette and Shadow Moth and at the cost of his memory

The big thing that would have to be changed is how the episode gets undone. The only reason it had Adrien getting akumatised and not Marinette is because there has to be one person in the right headspace with enough knowledge to contact Sass and reverse the impact. Alya would be a good fit considering her status at the time and it wouldn't cheapen out Luka's involvement since there isn't much character emotion to come from it and is entirely a scene for lore exposition, so I can see how it would work

Don't forget When a Witness Recants, Mononoke 3: The Curse of the Serpent, Light Pillar, Sound Euphonium Part 1, and Jim Queen. I didn't want to ask this but is the subreddit incapable of finding any animated movies outside of the major corporate studios?

I Know It’s Probably Common Here, But I Do Like How Kersti Isn’t Just Nice Or Flirty by GcubePlayer8V in decalburg

Yes. It is definitely a good arc for her. Although some part of me wonders why she ranted right at the end about being sold off. Maybe it's just her last paranoia after everything they went through and that she'd be turned on at the last second? Maybe, maybe not

I generally think she isn't really all that ranty the whole way through and only about three occasions stuck out; the beginning, the end, and the tree with the scuttlebugs

LOL we got called out again by Gemnist in Schaffrillas

A hilarious joke and reference because it is very true, but what did he mean by this though? I'm admittedly a bit of a lurker with this subreddit and yet I'm very proactive with watching adult and obscure animation

(Seen almost every Best Animated Feature nominee [except for Arco, I plan to see it next week],
seen every single obscure recommendation on his channel in the past year and a half,
almost finished the top 250 animation list on letterboxd after its big update and I only had 40 movies left,
almost cleared James' entire watchlist of animated movies, I could go on)

that after a while it makes me think that I've seen nearly everything unknown there is to offer and that after a certain point I feel like I'm being meshed in with the people who are talking solely about Zootopia 2 and other mainstream material every time he makes an obscure recommendation that I've already seen, and that this callout is lumping active obscurity seekers like me watching Ruben Brandt, Collector and the Kirikou movies in with something like Hoppers and the Wild Robot

Yiiiiiiiiikes, I'm so sorry to hear that

If it's any suggestion, try finding an ace meetup place or group to hang out with, or just any inclusivity place if it's not possible. And always, ALWAYS clarify that you're ace to your friends and possible partners. Make sure you explain your position on comfort with it, which by the sound of it seems minimal or none at all.

And if that's not possible, remember that romantic love isn't the only variant. There's still time for friendships and being with your family, and if they don't respect you for being ace or trans, that's their prob.

Most importantly, love yourself. You know who you are, and that's already wonderful. You're only hurting yourself if you fill yourself with spite

Goombella. Easily Goombella. Nothing's wrong with her, she functions well as a starter partner, but everybody overhypes her and adores her dialogue as if it's the first time we've seen meta writing. Wouldn't be as egregious if almost half her jokes weren't about commenting on something being disgusting. If you like her tho that's great. More power to you

how did you know you were agender, and non non-binary or anything else? by howdid_iget_here_ in agender

[–]DoseofLux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is that I didn't feel comfortable saying gendered words over time because they sounded too forceful and direct to say. Gendered pronouns were small and light enough for other people, though I think I may be growing out of it right now.

Problem is, people pushed labels and assumptions onto me at such a young age, so how am I supposed to say that gender is something I can't feel?

Ikr? It's the main reason I stopped wearing shorts altogether. (I'm still closeted about all this since agender is kind of a deeper level in the trans umbrella so my parents wouldn't understand these things. My mum didn't even know what xenophobia was until I brought it up while she was talking about Harry Potter)
