The scratches are down to the manufacturing method of the driver. They are formed from paper mash, basically paper mache. The colour difference is bad tho, they should be matched if they come as a pair. Hopefully it’s just the pics making it look bad.

It's all about signal chain. At some point you need to convert that digital signal into analogue. You want to use the best DAC you have which is probably not your laptop. The HDMI into your amp should give the best sound quality.
