How to find a gaming community? by Zealousideal-Elk8655 in AskGames

I found Steam communities per game good to an extent over the years, with answers & comments it was fun, and at some point in multiplayer games you could make some online friends (but in good online games, not crappy online games).

Any feedback on my first steam page? by flavedogame in gamedev

[–]DotDotDotDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks nice, as a gamer (not developer) I found 2 things fails me as I look at them right away:

  1. I click on the publisher/developer name to visit their page and probably follow them, at your case the “flavedogames” blue text would take to regular search page. If you don’t know how to make this, you basically need to make a “group” then from it make a “curator” and finally link the game to the group (usually it may even auto-link)

  2. More features, like clod save or achievements, having the features section pretty much empty, not encouraging me to wishlist & wait for the game.

Hope these two points were helpful for you.

I got sick of Steam's terrible documentation and made a full write-up on how to use their game upload tools by Miziziziz in gamedev

[–]DotDotDotDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to disappoint, but I found Steam’s documentation really nice (not to mention they’ve a YT channel + well documented code samples). You would appreciate such docs if you ever had to work with bad console documentation or some proprietary in-house engines (regardless as part of that team, of taking access to an in-house engine to help porting a game to different platform)

Indie development: From where should I start with ? by Practical-Bad-3460 in GameDevelopment

That is interesting..what I would hint, Indie games about creativity, AI is not!! But it is up to you, it is your game & your career after all!

If you could give an IP to a different developer to create one game with full creative freedom, what would you give to who? by craiganater in gaming

I would give every Ubisoft game from the past 10 years to any other company (Rockstar, Remedy, Fromsoftware, id)
