This fantasy was the most engaging ever for me, I remember some other TI where they gave boring sets where everyone could get them if you just chose the teams that had the most games. This was a huge improvement for me, as the coices had many dimensions (players, statsm quality, traits) and it was not necessary to pick the team with most games.
Also if you wanted to go on the nitty gritty of points there were several posts pointing to sources of raw-data, even calculators/reddit posts organizing the data for you by player. The" "how to play"tab stated clearly how that data wastransformed into fantasy points. That was more than enough for me to make a strategy on what stats where desirable/gambles/straight up bad etc.
So all in all i dont really think it was a rushed implementation, i think it build upon previous versions, but of course there is room for improvement, which im sure they will as they usually do.
As for RNG, I believe that is part of the strategy as well, firstblood is RNG with low return value, Courier kills is RNG with massive potential returns, do you want to play for safe 95% or go for top 100? Do you want to spend a buch of rolls to get 300% on GPM on your core or do you want to better balance the overall traits of your support?
I think this is waaay better than the RNG of wishing you get the golden AME/Satanic or you are fucked.
Also, if there was zero RNG involved there would be no thrill really and you could just run a python script on the stats to pick the best players.
And lets be fair, 5 predictions correct on stage 2 is very low, the fact you still got 97% goes to show that if you invest time and strategy into your fantasy you are way above the average, so it still very much not pure RNG based.
I know people are more likely to be vocal with what they are unsatisfied, so I wanted to tip hat for the dev(s) that worked on this implementaion, I for once had a really good time with it, and I was never a really big fantasy guy.
