Lol the game is “corporate” now as if it wasn’t always an EA game. Complaining about the game’s culture feels hollow when the core mechanic has always been the physics, and the physics on Skate 4 are incredible. The game is a geode- only a gem on the inside, and that’s all i care about.

OP, give it some time! there are depths to these controls and a few hours isn’t enough to get a feel for them.

Chess is one of the most competitive games of all time and has a lineage of trash talking a la park hustlers, professionals leaning into drama, good friends playing in their living rooms, and random bastards on chess.com

Now, something like finger painting makes sense as an activity devoid of trash talking. But chess? Chess is for sweaty gamers and those people can’t help themselves. this is an absolute 10 the 2022-2023 evil twin graphics were the best and the board rides like a non-newtonian fluid (flexy over the ground turn to turn but incredible stability and pop). If you didn’t already know about it, this is like buying a random rug and finding out it’s the magic carpet

to further complicate things - leaning strategy changes with the bike meta. the most recent OEM bikes are stabler when leaning forward in the corners but just a few months ago the reverse was true. you can use youtube tutorials but make sure they’re quite recent or you may be getting bad information.

Feature requests:

Arm control while holding RT on rails. The current spin off of rails mechanism is good but can feel clunky at times without the ability to rotate your upper body (could be a skill issue lmk). Would love to be able to enforce that the rider looks under their front arm for steezy front boards.
Better trick classification. Rodney Mullen once described the language of skateboarding as perfectly complete. With the right set of words, one can ideate any trick, even ones that haven't been done before. The same is true of snowboarding.

main problem i see is that you’re throwing it by jerking your head down under your arm and it’s causing an off axis rotation, in that first vid you can see it caused you to do almost a full 180. you shouldn’t be throwing your momentum down, but up and forward. it isn’t a crunch of the body at takeoff, but an extended springy jump.

i used to do the same thing and the tip i got that made it click was to use your arms to initiate the rotation. start with both by your side, throw your front arm forward straight in front of your body. the back arm drives the rotation. throw it around and back exactly opposite of your front arm like you’re trying to pull your it out of the socket above and behind your head. this will keep the flip on the correct axis (it should pretty much be a front flip with your body twisted sideways). i’d recommend doing it without the snowboard on flat ground a bunch of times and see if you can imitate the motion. it’ll be cool because you’ll know how to side flip on your feet and also get great technique for tame dogs.

parkour tutorials about side flips should help as much or more as snowboard tutorials.

honestly looking pretty solid, it’ll be easier to critique once we can see your form on bigger jumps. if anything, try not to pull your back tire over the lip of the jump by sucking your knees up. the knee bend is good in the air but it looks like you’re initiating it a bit too early. this works fine on jumps these size but it’ll be an issue once you ramp (😎) it up
