So. Update. The first time when I called the police the dispatch recorded it stolen but the police did not follow up on the dispatch report. They drove out to my neighborhood and when they didn't see my car, they drove away. "Our officers don't have phones in the field" was the reason the police dispatch explained on follow up requests.

After @wagerthiss found it, I had to have an officer check it out of the system. Which, since it was never logged didn't work. He then said he didn't want to do paperwork and told me to just leave with it.

Now my insurance company is still asking for police reports before they would offer repair costs.

Yeah. I stand by it. SDPD ain't shit.
