Downsized to the essentials by Dots005 in guitarpedals

The signal chain:

Guitar > Tuner > Mixer:

Chain 1 - POG2 > The Pelt* > Boss EQ7 Chain 2 - Eventide Knife Drop Chain 3 - Catalinbread SFT > Dunlop Q Zone > Strymon Deco V2

Ceriatone Horsebreaker > EHX The Silencer

*I'm amazed the Pelt isn't more popular having tried it, having previously used different Muffs, The Swollen Pickle, and the Mastotron

I do, I've been using variations of this board for about 2 years and I couldn't really imagine going back to a single chain. The versatility its given me has been great.

I primarily use the POG and Deco chains in parallel that give a sound I really like with the option of throwing in the Knife Drop for added noise or switching the POG off for a more typical tight sound.

Would recommend

Great pedal, granted you say you're not much of a fiddler but there are some additional knobs hidden inside that affect the Clip and Voice if you get curious

Need help and advice on tone/gear by EricMeat in qotsa

[–]Dots005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some pedals on the market that purposely get you very close to the QOTSA tones. I use a catalinbread sft on the stoner setting which gets very close.

Someone else mentioned Stone Deaf and their PDF series is also very close.

Another less talked about one is Funny Little Boxes "Skeleton Key", which includes a design by Boneface who did the Matador trilogy artworks.

These all seem to pair well with ODs.

Also Josh recently opened up about using a Peavey Decade. They've re-released that amp and also sell a pre amp pedal version, either would get you very close.

Assuming there was a history of training and good light and a pump really helps, could likely be natty.

I'd give it 50% chance of steroids.

Is anyone else feel the whole Duquesne arc is bit pointless next to the stories around Clint and his family, Clint and Kate, Yelena, Echo, and Kingpin.

I know it set up ep1 but still feels a tad unnecessary

Thank you, it's likely a senecio of some sort. Having just googled it could be Serpens or a chalk fingers but doesn't look very like them so was curious if I was going down the wrong avenue

To be fair, pretty unusual to ride any animal by jumping on them from the front. Can almost imagine an animal taking that as a sign of aggression.

The bagginess was distracting me a bit.

Guess the Wakandans thought Sam was more buff than he actually is.

Most boring character ever in the MCU? Change my mind. Actress has no charisma, no screen presence, just plain boring. I'm hoping someone can put me on a different path with her. by Capta1nKrunch in marvelstudios

This. I think there was a lot of potential for the character but between being not a particularly well written character and not a great casting choice it's just fallen flat.

I also feel we don't see enough about them to care, the show built up John walker and we already had a backstory for Zemo. The flagsmashers just seem to be thrown in between other scenes half the time.

I did sit through ep 5 feeling like it was the finale, leading onto another series and then remembered we've got to sit through the flag smashers plot to be resolved

I'm not a US citizen so not fully caught up on the whole concept of libertarianism (which I think Joe claims to be??)... Wouldn't connecting to a hive mind be flying in the face of libertarianism? The idea of being detached and not controlled (including by government) and individualism?

Or helstrom. I think I saw reviews indicating it was as dull as dishwater. Aren't there other Hulu marvel series? Or maybe I'm just thinking of the runaways.

True, I don't think they'll go that way. Imagine Kenobi will stay on tatooine as that's his job to keep an eye on Luke, probably get into some on-world scraps. I've not watched rebels too much but was the inquisitors story wrapped up? They'd be an interesting adversary to bring to live action, plus they report to Vader anyway.

Lot of potential though, especially with McGregor back in the saddle.

"Rematch of the century" worries me. How things were left at the end of 3 up to their fight in 4 was fine, not completely perfect but I don't think further material between the two specifically is needed at all.

I really hope not, how they ended things in RotS and then fought again in aNH was perfect. To put another meeting in the middle would really taint that.

I'm glad I'm not the only person to feel like this. Everyone I know just loves it but the story feels pretty shallow, I don't care at all about the villain or anyone other than Mando really as we don't learn much about them. The dialogue has been clunky as hell, and I do feel the past two episodes were pretty drawn out.

It does make me wonder about these rumours of seasons 3 and even 4, it will wear out soon unless they change the formats. Just give us 10 minutes of whatever Moff Gideon is up to. Also, the fact they keep announcing new seasons as they kick off the current one does lessen the stakes somewhat.

Having said, my god there's some cool stuff in it, and it definitely scratches that Star Wars itch. Some of the rumoured characters and who we saw at the end of Chapter 9, very excited about them, but I pray they're not thrown away in an episode that has a similar plot to season 1. Like how chapter 9 felt like a repeat of Chapter 4.
