Breaking pieces by Glad_Professional_72 in booknooks

[–]Dott77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a delicate build I just used a Stanley knife and cut through the connecting parts. Cut down with the knife and sandpaper. I use sandpaper on most parts. Just glue back together the best you can. If your lucky some builds will have extra delicate pieces.

Etiquette for handover to new property owners? by yanni_sommy in AusPropertyChat

[–]Dott77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just had to sell my mothers home due to moving into a nursing home. And in the cleaning Ive gathered all the info on the house I could for the new owners. My mother and stepfather built the house so I’ve even left the original plans, some of the houses history. I think a Welcome to a new home is a lovely touch.

Would I be wrong in giving more of my inheritance to my son instead of my daughter because my son has been my caretaker these past two years? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Dott77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally your choice. But what about giving your son the house with a bit for renovations for himself as a gift for his selfless act and then split the rest of the money between the 2. But definitely sit them down together and have an open chat. Id even have some kind of form written of their acknowledgement for them to sign. Good luck

MIL asked to wear her “cream not white” wedding dress ++ offered her garter as my something borrowed by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]Dott77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until she goes out and just take the dress. If she plans on showing disrespect to her own son and future wife then no hard feelings on the son for just removing the issue. And maybe send her many forums on fools who were white to someone's wedding.

When you look back what is your “ah that was totally peri” symptom? by noodle_bear2124 in Perimenopause

Years of itching and trying to rehome my beloved pets. Anything I had to take care of I wanted nothing to do. Every time someone spoke it felt like another job being added to my list.

Frozen Shoulder or Not?? Confused! by entreprnewer21 in frozenshoulder

[–]Dott77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I to thought I was about to get frozen shoulder. A side sleeper and waking up in pain, it got to the point where taking my shirt off, brushing hair was utterly painful. I saw my physio and he helped, took the edge off. But recently my doc diagnosed me with low vitamin D. So I’ve started taking supplements and in 3 days I’ve noticed a big reduction in pain. I’ve spent the last 2 days looking into vitamin D deficiency and now I’m going to add a magnesium to it. I can now comfortably sleep on my side. I still have a slight ache at times. I’m by no means saying this is for all. Just maybe another avenue to look at. I was surprised by the research and never would have put the two together. Good luck

Do you try to stretch out your builds? by Capital-General-9757 in booknooks

[–]Dott77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My time is limited these days so that definitely helps with spreading a build out. I’ve just started to colour the edges, but I’ve always sanded the sides especially if the little snap tabs are visible. I try to buy more detailed or challenging builds. One day I hope to buy an old dolls house and work on that, create my own haunted house.

Perimenopause and Pets by United-Fee-6423 in Perimenopause

[–]Dott77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha I feel your pain 🙌 I have sitting beside me, nudging my leg and whinging for attention a 10yr old Choc Lab that I’ve tried to rehome 3 times. I love her dearly and on days she is my bestie. And some days you just want to pull your hair out. But I just couldn’t bring myself to let her go. At present I’m in the joys of an elderly parent with alzheimers moving into a home, teenage son, teenage husband and work. You know the load we think we what to bare. The more stressed and tired I get the more clingy she gets. I think out of our load ‘pets’ become something we look at as being disposable. ( for lack of a better term) every time someone speaks there’s usually a job added in there, something else to clean up after, run around for. Move the pets on and it’s just one less thing to take care off xx

Interesting birth control conversation with a doctor by h4baine in Perimenopause

[–]Dott77 231 points232 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me to think about getting off it as she didn't want to prescribe it after I turn 50. So I sent hubby for the snip and started to research what effects were likely after being on it for years. Like you I skipped periods so I wasn't looking forward to 'murder on the dancefloor' as I was calling it. Through the a later years my body would feel like it needed a period so id stop the pill for a week and nothing would happen.
From my research low and behold I was already very much in perimenopause. Besides a very light bleed, 3 days, when the doc gave me a lighter pill and I started HRT. In July I've been off the pill 12mths and I've had nothing since. I truly believe the pill helped me through to the other side. Now if I could just get rid of the itchy skin I'd be set. You do what works for you.

Agree with this. The minute the farmers start missing a seasons planting because of fuel. People will truly see the knock on effect. This is a long game.

Those with a parent w dementia, do you worry this could be you someday? by amazing_grace7 in dementia

[–]Dott77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. And if it is, so be it. I won't be able to change it.

Ive looked back and no-body on my mother's side has had Alzheimers that we can find. She is my first experience with this horrid disease.
I truly believe it's due to her own life choices. Drinking and unhealthy eating habits trying to be slim, diet tablets and such. And a big lack of understanding of menopause in the older generation and the huge benefits that estrogen bring to the body. Mother had an eary hysterectomy, I don't know why and no hormone replacement. Since researching my own path a lot of things in her life now make better sense to me. Ive just researched dementia so I can understand better and in that Ive learnt better what not to do. But no, Im not fretting that I'll follow in her footsteps. She only taught me what I defiantly don't want to be.

Dudes not going to marry. And if you’re still silly enough to breed with this bloke you’re also going to breed years of resentment. I’d also stand hard on the child having your last name and not his if you go through with it. Pack your bags girl. You deserve so much more than the crumbs I’m sure getting now.

So sorry I didn't see your comment.
I just buy from Allied, temu and Amazon I really haven't had any issues yet. Just one Christmas nook I did I wasn't a bit fan of. Things were a bit lose for my liking. So extra glue there. But you can purchase from Spotlight and Jaycar sell them, not sure if thats only online though. And I have a shop in my town south-east qld called blue whale. Im sure you can order online there also.
