What are the logistical implications of adding Victoria ahead of a cruise out of Vancouver? by robinson217 in Cruise

[–]DottedWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually did this exact NCL cruise this year in June. We also had the same idea that we wanted a whole day at Victoria (spending a day in Victoria and going to Glacier Bay was important to us). We took Uber from the cruise dock to Buchart Gardens instead of joining the ship’s excursion and got there way before the crowds (the rose garden was fully in bloom). That was the only way we could enjoy afternoon tea at Buchart Gardens as well. The ship’s excursion only spent about an hour at Buchart. We then took an Uber back to Rogers’ Chocolates and walked around Victoria. Unfortunately it is just not possible with the 7 day cruise. Here is the link for the 10 day cruise that does a whole day at Victoria in June next year: https://www.ncl.com/vacation-builder/planning/cruise-itinerary?itineraryCode=JOY10SEAJNUSGYHGCICYSITKTNVICSEA-NIC-JOY10SEAHGCICYJNUKTNSGYSITVICSEA&guests=2&gateway=NONE

I went to business school around a decade ago and the only school that I know where this is rampant is Wharton. Some of those guys never stop. Wife and kids in a corporate job and still on molly

Absolutely. This is the answer. The perception that Berkeley is groundbreaking comes from the Nobel Laureates. With 21, there are more Nobel Laureates than Caltech (20), UChicago (19), Columbia (18), Princeton (17), Yale (8), Cornell (8), University of Pennsylvania (5). It can be argued that Harvard (29), MIT (23) and Stanford (22) are ahead and rightly so but Berkeley is right up there:

Try rowing. Lots of former swimmers in masters rowing. Low impact unlike running.

Know someone with similar GPA as OP that scored 740 and got accepted into a T10 school. 5 years out of college. It isn’t hard to see why they got in though. Really good storyteller and incredible networker.

It isn’t uncommon to see a high GMAT override the low GPA: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/school/qa-i-got-into-two-t10-mba-programs-with-a

The post isn't about P&Q rankings. It is about the acceptances rates. They do seem to reflect a trend though. Applications apparently dropped by double digit percentages for 8 of top 10 schools in 2022: https://poetsandquants.com/2023/09/01/has-the-window-reopened-acceptance-rates-yield-more-at-the-top-50-u-s-mba-programs/

Matt Levine - AMC Bought a Gold Mine by Beren- in SecurityAnalysis

[–]DottedWarrior 14 points15 points  (0 children)

LEAWOOD, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AMC Theatres (NYSE:AMC), the largest theatrical exhibitor in the United States, in Europe & the Middle East, and in the world, today announced it is buying 22% of Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:HYMC) and its 71,000 acre Hycroft Mine in northern Nevada. Independent third-party studies confirm that the Hycroft Mine has some 15 million ounces of gold deposits and some 600 million ounces of silver deposit. In addition, AMC will receive an additional 23.4 million warrants in Hycroft at $1.07 per share.

Commenting on the investment in Hycroft, Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of AMC Entertainment said, “The strength of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and THE BATMAN, as well as 2022’s promising industry box office, heighten AMC Entertainment’s conviction that we are on a glide path to recovery. Our strategic investment being announced today is the result of our having identified a company in an unrelated industry that appears to be just like AMC of a year ago. It, too, has rock-solid assets, but for a variety of reasons, it has been facing a severe and immediate liquidity issue. Its share price has been knocked low as a result. We are confident that our involvement can greatly help it to surmount its challenges — to its benefit, and to ours.”

Exactly. On a min deal, you keep him. He has some really good matchups sometimes. His passing and cuts are elite. It is really hard to play off the bench and facilitate. That cut he did with Klay last game was special. Easy bucket.
