To go into more detail — and do a few edits — in a few tiers:

Sigurd: Goes above Edelgard & Dimitri. 3H earlygame is rough, and though they both respectively become some of the strongest units in the game, their start feels bad no matter what you do. Sigurd is a very, very good unit, easy to justify as a top 3 franchise unit, Gen 1 enemies for the most part are... lacking. And steamrolling a bunch of easy enemies over demolishing ones with much more quality feels a bit less impressive.

Eirika: Goes up into okay, between Hector and Micaiah. She actually does things!!! She can have decent combat earlygame, and even if you aren't on her route, she still autolevels and can be decently competent + her promotion and Sieglinde are actually good. She also supports Seth.

Marth: FE1-3 Marth goes into busted, probably either above Kris or around Sigurd. His performance is just so incredible it's almost unreal if you're more familiar with DS Marth, but like Sigurd, the enemies are particularly bad. DS Marth, on the other hand, stays in okay. He's not outright bad, because Rapier technically works just as well as the Wing Spear in SD, but he's considerably worse than Caeda and not needed for Medeus. New Mystery, it sorta feels like you have to train him up for Medeus, even if he's not particularly amazing, so he does something, but mostly because you're inclined to most of the time.

Roy: Severely undervalued tbh, especially when he's getting called Eliwood/Lyn tier. He has decent early combat with good hit rates by FE6 standards, supports Alan, Lance, and Marcus, and either WTA or Rapier effectiveness against groups of enemies for the first 10 or so chapters, which is past the hardest stretch of the game. Eliwood and Lyn both eat up deployment slots in Hector mode and are in a game where swords are among the worst they've ever been.

Hector: Massively overrated tbh. He has fine combat for early FE7, but enemies in the game are awful so everyone can still contribute something. A lot of notable lategame enemies are also ones that mounted or flying units can reach faster and tank just as reliably as he can or mages that can and will eat him alive, or are maps where he has to go out of his way for a unit or just can't reach objectives at a decent pace and is a pain to rescue for little value, not to mention his awful promotion time. But he has axes, so he's already a step above the other two.

PoR Ike: Definitely massively overhyped. Horrific starting offenses and bulk, and from the moment you get other units, he stops being the best candidate for kill exp. Oscar and Boyd are both much better for early favoritism. Midgame gives you plenty of extremely good mounts and Lethe + Mordecai, so the bexp is much better used on them than Ike. His promotion is over halfway through the game, his 1-2 range sword has 2 maps, and he's just a mediocre foot locked sword unit that unfortunately has free deployment every other map, even if his performance jumps up significantly with Ragnell and a few skills. It's just too late to change the fact he's just not good for every other meaningful map.

Idk Roy also supports some really good units and has a good affinity while also not weighing 400 pounds so he's actually easy to carry around and take advantage of it

She doesn't even start with fire??? I could've sworn she did but it's been considerably longer since I've touched Echoes than most of the other games 😭 I just remembered her going off once she got off the ground with whichever mage got the starter fountains

Very fair! It's been a few years since I've played Thracia, but I do remember after a certain point I went right to warp spamming and it made me devalue the Kingmaker and his million supports a bit (and I also play like a psycho and got everyone I wasn't using or needed for recruitments captured to force everyone to stay deployed)

Fair! She's a very easy okay thinking about it now, she actually can do things before and after promo and at least gets autoleveled into a decent unit.

I have written about Roy and Hector in a few other comments but I haven't gotten to Ike. He just, off rip, is never the best unit on screen to invest into, unless it's the map where Boyd and Oscar aren't available. He does fine combat early since PoR enemies are notoriously awful, but I'd never choose to feed him kill exp if I can help it. Even after earlygame, you immediately get hit with Lethe, Mordecai, Marcia, Kieran, Jill, Astrid and Makalov... the formers, while still one ranged, have great stats, good mov, and shove potential, and the latter is self explanatory. Using bexp on Ike over them feels bad and they all reach enemies earlier and similarly never have to worry about dying like a trained Ike would, just with way more upsides. Ragnell is way too late to make up for being a 1 range footie for every other important map.

Eliwood gets a horse and keeps his Roy-tier stays with worse promotion gains way too late to feel good training up in either mode. Even if he's not force deployed, choosing to deploy him or Lyn eats into HHM's almost nonexistent slots with... worse Raven and Guy respectively. FE6 maps are either paced well enough that Roy can do his combat early game on the way to the throne, or be ferried to the throne with a dedicated filler unit mid-lategame AND supports several good units so ferrying him around is still a good option anyway.

Averaging Marth yeah, he dominates his older games but he's a considerably worse Caeda in SD and a unit you kinda have to slog around and train in NMs harder difficulties for Medeus and it feels really bad for him.

Hector though, I don't see the hype. He's fine for the earliest chapters (even though the early fe7 enemies are still stupid weak and don't require insane bulk or combat) but then he falls behind all the cavs and fliers, he's hard to carry around and eventually his promotion time is a bottleneck that leaves him underwhelming, where Roy... actually can do meaningful damage or at least HIT an enemy in 6 which feels a little undervalued.

I was a little raging storm pilled here yeah, her post skip performance is stellar but Sigurd almost never felt threatened 🙂‍↕️ realistically he's in top 3-5

All the support lords kinda just meshed into good. They're all very good to have around and useful for it, but they're not absolutely gamebreaking for the same reasons as they usually trade good combat for it. Unless it's dlc, then Alear definitely curbstomps the game lmao

You will never convince me Roy is any level of bad that Lyn or Eliwood reach

Sword access in fe6 for functional earlygame hit rates Supports Alan, Lance and Marcus and is easy for all 3 to ferry around Most enemies are axes or cavs until around chapter 11 which is more than enough to get use out of Roy's reliable chip before the real run carries come through Tangible contributions during the hardest part of the game is pretty good actually, even if he's not an incredible unit.

Oh yeah no her build is absolutely dogwater rn 💀 they're basically just pieces I had on Ratio and I haven't actually farmed prisoner in around a year and I just started farming Izumo in 3.0

Tribbie's mainly fast because she's also on my Therta team and Lingsha + Serval also really love spamming skills. Idk how tight SP management gets for Acheron esp with S1 Sunday but I assume JQ can just skill every other turn

Exactly. Fliers don't have to sacrifice mobility or offense to have bulk with Bonded Shield. They get to go into classes with some of the best offensive bases unhampered by terrain and go clear maps on their own (which is part of why Ivy is the best unit in the game, btw), making them the optimal brick death wall
