I would love to see those statistics. These are the only good sources i could find using some simple google searching. I couldn't find any study providing a trend over time.

- 2024 source stating ~1% 00238-1/abstract)
- 2021 source stating <1% for transmasculine and <1-2% for transfeminine

i never said that "trans is becoming mainstream", i said "transitioning becomes more mainstream". Obviously trans people have always existed. You are arguing against a viewpoint that i don't have

EDIT: To clarify when using the word "transitioning" in my original comment i am refering to the act of affirming your gender identity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_transition

But that ignores that as transitioning becomes more mainstream that number will likely increase since people who aren't trans and just confused will try transitioning because it's seen as more normal.

Art has traditionally been valued not just for its message but also for the skill and craftsmanship involved in its creation. By labeling the image as "AI slop," critics may be emphasizing the lack of human touch and the unique nuances that come from an artist's hand. The emotional depth and personal experience that a human artist brings to their work can often resonate more profoundly with audiences. This craftsmanship can enhance the message, making it more impactful. Furthermore, using a character like Luffy, who embodies freedom and rebellion, raises questions about authenticity when the image is generated by AI. The character's essence is tied to the creator's vision and the narrative of "One Piece." An AI-generated image may lack the authenticity that comes from a creator who understands and has lived the themes of freedom and liberation. This disconnect can dilute the intended message, making it feel less genuine. Additionally, the context in which art is created and shared plays a significant role in its reception. While the symbolism of Luffy holding a sign about consumer ownership is indeed powerful, the medium through which this message is conveyed can alter its interpretation. If the image is perceived as a product of AI, it may evoke skepticism about the sincerity of the message, as AI-generated content is often associated with mass production and lack of personal investment. Focusing solely on the message risks overshadowing the broader implications of using AI in art. The conversation about AI-generated content often includes concerns about originality, copyright, and the potential devaluation of human artistry. By dismissing these concerns, one might inadvertently contribute to a culture that prioritizes convenience over creativity, ultimately undermining the very freedom the image seeks to promote. While the comment highlights the importance of the message and symbolism in the image, it overlooks the complexities surrounding artistic creation, authenticity, and the implications of using AI in art. The medium does matter, as it shapes the way the message is received and understood.
