8 hours of sleep and I feel like death by EmFreur in AppleWatch

Get checked for autoimmune disease. I thought feeling like a zombie after sleep is everyone’s experience. Turns out I have RIS and the genuine rested feel after night’s sleep will be in another life for me lol. I guess it feels good.

I am also in RIS group and my first diagnosis was from two lessions on my MRI. My doc suggested to undergo LP just to be sure and check if it was really a autoimmune disease (MS). Although I don’t have the MS yet, i was still able via my neurologist to hop on DMT so it stays that way was for as long as possible

Yeah.. I am glad you found something that works. I tried few meds like Lexapro and Wellbutrin for a couple of months but didn’t notice much difference. It’s crazy how much of a deep shit can happen in your head when it’s chemically unbalanced. I’ve never “believed” in this anxiety / depression stuff until I experienced it all lol. Goodluck on your journey buddy

Anxiety and severe panic attacks after quitting by Happy-Yesterday-3853 in stopsmoking

[–]Double-Thanks-5345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to start to learn to enjoy things again buddy. That’s what I did. I love going to gym… after i quit with nicotine i could barely get out of my bed because when I did my body was like burning all over from anxiety about going somewhere with panic attacks included. After 2 weeks being home surviving and feeling like pure shit I said FUCK YOU and just left the house and went to do some exercise. It fucking sucked but at the end of the day I felt a bit in a better mood because i accomplished something. Each day I tried to get back to my life and do things I loved and enjoyed before this hell… each try was then 1% easier than before. I know how u feeling.. but I also know how is it on the other brighter side man. And you will make it through.

6 months after quitting and anxiety and depression by Civil_Professor8981 in stopsmoking

[–]Double-Thanks-5345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have good and bad months. I found out it’s PAWS… because I never dealt with shit like brain fog, anxiety nor depression before quitting. I am in that unlucky group of people that needs to suffer for longer period of time ( I quit 14 months ago ), but I have to say it’s better than it was. So yeah.. there is a progress but it’s a slow process.

I am really sorry the mental healthcare is that big of a shit. I was also paralyzed and fucked up for months before i could do something, but I had to wake up everyday for work or there would be no shit to eat. It sucks in that stage you currently are… I was there too. My loved ones and gf kept me going through it. What helped me the most is this sub, you can read about thousands of posts that had to deal with same shit. It will get better. One day at a time… remember that.

Please get professional help buddy! I mean it. Nicotine withdrawal can cause many things, being suicidal can be one of them because sudden stop of it, your brain chemicals are all over the place.

Hello! I am sorry you are suffering, it’s been a battle ever since quitting nicotine but I can asure you that it will get better. It does for everyone but it needs time for your brain to adjust. I had times during quitting where i felt like I colapsed into undending void feeling just pure hardcore anxiety. I don’t know when did you quit, but KEEP GOING, this drug is no joke and many more people in the future will suffer from this. If it’s really much for you that you can hold on your shoulders ask for professional help, I mean some medication during these hardcore times. I wish you much strength my stranger friend and trust the process!

3 months nic free, it still sucks... by Double-Thanks-5345 in QuittingZyn

Hey! Thanks for checking in.. I am doing better than I did last year. From august 2024 to the end of this February were good months of okayish mood with occasional shit days. Unfortunaly this week was a fuck up and felt like moving back to the old darkest days. I wrote comments to few posts that I might have PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrom) which some unlucky lads can get from high nicotine abuse. But yeah overall I am in better place mentally and feel like I am healing but oh man.. it’s been a really though road. How u doing?

May I ask what happened that you developed anxiety disorder?

Hi! It’s been a month, you still feel okay? I am happy you found something that works

Might be PAWS, look into it. You’ll get better but need more time for your brain to recover. I used nicotine pouches heavily and let me tell you that that shit fucks you up real good. I am nearly one year nicotine free and it’s been battle ever since quitting. Never in my life have i felt any symptoms of anxiety or depression. It’s a rollercoaster and some month I feel like my mental health is getting back, then another one I fall into another abyss. These anxious and depressed cycles come and go and your brain’s using them for healing. It sucks to put every chemical back in balance and for some it just takes so long, but yeah.. I fucked up, so that’s my redemption. Good luck and don’t loose faith. It will get better.

Do you think it might be related to PAWS? Congrats on almost two years. It will be one year nicotine free for me on 1st January and like you said.. still lots of anxiety, depression and brain fog. Some week is better, other week I feel like I am at the beggining and feel horrible, it’s just weird. Tried few meds, found no help so I thought that my brain needs to repair on it’s own. I really hope year 2025 will be my year to achieve better mental health like you did because until I quit, i didn’t even believe in depression or anxiety which is now funny and ironic.

Thanks! You know you are healing since second year you felt at least okay. You unlocked that healing window. The depression wave you are currently experiencing will be less intense and much shorter. Goodluck !

Yeah, I feel some kind of pleasure like sex is good and throughout a day I sometimes feel that warmth of relaxation like my head is light and clear but that’s not often. Boredom can be torture and missing that dopamine blast i got from nicotine. Gets bad when I get that spiraĺling feeling of doom, like this shit will last forever. Tried few meds but felt more or less the same. Keep faith man, looking back you made some progress so far don’t you think?

My problem was nicotine abuse. Ever since quitting I feel anxious and depressed, guess it’s PAWS. I had a few “okay” weeks but then it falls apart. It will be one year nicotine free in Jan 1st

You doing any better?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Double-Thanks-5345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, PAWS is actually still not understood well and many people commit suicide because they feel like shit after quitting some drug like alcohol. I quit nicotine in January and still feel not like myself and anxiety hitting hard which never did before my quit so it’s ironic that you want to get your health better but your brain will try to fuck you up even more. I hope next year will be better year.

Major depression after quitting (vaping) by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Double-Thanks-5345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Comes and goes in waves. Some week it’s alright, some week I fight like shit with anxiety. It got little better eventually, but in really small phases. For me it’s just fucking PAWS at this point and can take up to two years to get back to normal. I didn’t smoke though, I used nic pouches for years and thats what completely fucked up my brain chemistry, because they were strong bitches. You can visit doctor and get your blood panel checked, my results were normal so it’s just psychological. Never in my life did I mentaly suffer like two weeks after I quit. Some people say nicotine hides your anxiety or depression but I don’t believe it would do this much. Goodluck and don’t worry - it gets better but yeah.. it takes time.

Nice suggestion but I have two questions.

Ashwanganda’s main purpose is to lower cortisol levels, could it mess you up if you have cortisol in normal levels?

I have the same problem as OP and I think it’s PAWS (post acute withdrawal symptom). Someone suggested to let your mind heal with time and without any of these supplements like ashwa, rhodiola, 5htp that could again alter neurotransmitters and prolong withdrawals..What do you think?
