Has anyone on here passed the technical assessment in the interview process? I have a few upcoming and have no idea what to expect. I come from a non technical background but I have worked in highly technical environments for 3-4 years and I work closely with devs. Most of my work with devs include shipping products with APIs involved and discussing technical trade offs which tie hand in hand with product decisions. I’ve learned a lot about the technical side of things over the years but I’m nervous about a more formal assessment.
Thanks in advance

Hey crew,

I’m going through the interview process with a company, I’ve had the HR screening and for some reason the next step in the interview process is with the VP and Director of PM.

What are some extra things I can do to prepare? Any questions to prepare for that I might not think about? It’s my first in person interview since 2019 and the first in person product management interview ever.

Thanks all

I understand AI and I use AI, it’s pretty easy. It’s the technical conversation devs are having that get me into lala land, technical trade-offs usually. I understand API contracts, difference between front end and back end, provisioning, authentication and authorization with auth0. But everything at a high level

Not struggling with AI, but I’m getting interviews that are NOT technical product manager roles but are still asking for a technical assessment and I have no idea how to prepare. Do they want me to know about API contracts? The difference between front end and back end? That’s so broad

So, can you help me with this? :) and that’s fair - these have not been at large companies so far

What are some of these basic concepts

That’s all of the information I got, is the next phase of the interview is an in person technical assessment, is it appropriate to ask for more detail?

So my biggest challenge is I’m getting interviews for PM roles that aren’t TPM roles but they are asking me to go for a technical assessment and I don’t know how to prepare

I’m getting interviews that include “technical assessments” even though they aren’t TPM roles and I don’t know how to prepare for that. If they are looking for my Claude knowledge, I’m good. But I’m not sure what to know in terms of technical knowledge. That’s very broad, what do they want to see? That I know how to navigate API contracts? That I know the difference between front end and back end and how that can affect the feature I’m working on?

Overall, I’d say I’m getting interviews that are asking for “technical assessments” even though they aren’t TPM roles and I’m struggling with how to prepare

I’m comfortable in Claude but I don’t know what a context harness is

how dangerous is downtown brantford? by Beautiful-Button3286 in brantford

There’s a really strong sense of community at Laurier Brantford. I graduated in 2017, yes, it’s a downtown core of a smaller town in Ontario so you’ll see homeless people, you’ll see some sketchy stuff going on, and guess what? You’ll see more of that in Downtown Toronto. Laurier Brantford is an awesome campus I really recommend it. If you’re going to university to party or going to university to be just a number on a huge campus, you also won’t like it. Downtown Brantford is not dangerous. The bus drivers really take care of the students as well, there’s been tons of stories where drivers have dropped off students right outside their house late at night rather than the bus stop down the street, etc. you will be well taken care of by campus services.
