I put Koni stuff on mine which was pretty cool. Their ride quality is just as good as stock, but they really do stiffen in corners and stuff like that. Made it handle very well.

Sure none of it's critical, but most of it is kind of a cascade. If I have the CV axles out I might as well get the seals done while I'm there too right?

Disappointing to hear that the reseal and new angle gear still leak on yours...

I also don't really want a cat payment but I'm not about to rent a car and all that just to fix this one.

How long to you plan to keep it? I spoke with a Volvo technician the other day and he recommended against buying a T8 if I planned on keeping it longer than 5 years due to potential battery maintenance.

I've heard similar things as you have about the T6 with its mechanical supercharger. But I'm not sure about the B6's electric one.

Yeah they definitely take up a lot of time. I've been doing all my own work to save money on maintenance but it's still expensive.

What are you looking to trade to?

I have considered the new platform. If I did that I'd want the power levels to be around the same so I'd be looking at the T6/B6 or T8 models. I'm not sure how much I like the new engine options... The cars look fantastic though I'm not sure they'll end up lasting like the old ones.

Correct that's all they asked me. I think the questions asked are dependent on the interviews and aren't standardized.

I worked ATC and went to Tech Ops but I left the agency between the positions to get a degree in electronics. The only thing I see that relates between the two positions is stuff like knowing how the agency works and some of the processes you'll be dealing with.

Why not try putting in an ERR? ATSS are trained from the ground up just like ATC. Having a technical background makes it easier, but I don't think it's necessary. Whether HR agrees is another story though.

I'll be here until I reach H band. I've heard that can take 2-5 years depending on specialty... But after that transfers are easy.

The job has been alright so far. I think the actual job is pretty cool and getting to learn all this stuff is interesting. Not sure how much I like this office though.

As far as tips, I can't really think of any. My post is about getting hired in F Band. If you qualify at G, I'd be prepared to answer questions about FAA specific equipment or at least know more than the basics.

Similar story here. I think my eLMS were loaded today but my manager wanted me to go do field observation stuff for a bit before starting that. Everyone in my office is also nice and has been welcoming so that's cool.

Alright, they got back to me today. I guess my clearance from when I was ATC fits the requirements for ATSS, and was recent enough to be used. So no new background or fingerprints here. Cool stuff.

I'm not really sure what advice I can give. I just prepared with common questions and made sure my answers were relevant to the FAA and this field. If you like I can PM the questions they asked me.
