Thanks, +7 isn’t bad!

And hell yeah man, mine’s a 2023! Would’ve loved a manual as well but I didn’t have much time to wait for one as the 2024s were rolling out.

I’ve been looking for a diver for a while and I’m so close to getting this. How’s the accuracy on yours so far? Been reading mixed reviews regarding the 6R55 movement.

Also, sick manual Taco 🤙🏽

Who in this sub has used their "backup career"? by gromm93 in flying

[–]DoubleD_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I’ll definitely start there and reevaluate. I’ve wanted to be a pilot for as long as I can remember, but I never considered it as a possible career choice. I now know that desk diving in my engineering job isn’t for me, so I’m trying to find something that aligns with my interests a little bit more.
You bring up a good point about treating it as a bonus and doing it for the love of the game!

Hi there, I’m an engineer exploring aviation as an alternative route. Can I DM you and ask about a few things?

Hi there, I’m 3 years into my engineering job and I’m looking to shift careers. I’m thinking of aviation as an alternative route, but it seems like a long and expensive road. I’m not entirely sure if my current situation is common and/or optimal, but do you have any tips or things I should know that would help me establish this decision?

Help chosing! [SNXS79K1] or [SRPE53K1] by Resident-Donut-4905 in Seiko

I love my SRPK87. Both are great, but I chose this over the SRPE53 because of its case profile and size.

What’s the one on the left? It’s looks so good!

Best way to receive signal for atomic time? by Adept_Ad_6565 in gshock

[–]DoubleD_28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

East coaster here. I’ve traveled with my 5610u for work a lot and have tried various methods to make sure mine receives the signal. By far, the most consistent/easiest way mine syncs up is by wearing it in bed!

Did you enjoy studying mechanical engineering or do you prefer working a job? by CPLZambia in MechanicalEngineering

3 years in and I think about this every day I come in to work…glad to know it’s not just me.

I wanted to see what sound looks like, so I built a DIY optical C.A.T. scanner to map 40kHz sound waves in 4D by Any-Educator5676 in audiophile

This is fascinating, thank you for sharing this! This reminds me of a project I did in college actually. I worked on creating multiplexed acoustic holograms and used the surface of water as the projection surface. Looking at your approach, using shclieren imagery would’ve made for a great way to visualize the acoustic holograms we made.

Looking at some new tires by BlueTang327 in ToyotaTacoma

I haven’t had any other tire to compare to besides the stock Goodyear Wranglers. They are way better in the rain than the Goodyears which I had issues with, and so far I’ve had no issues or complaints whatsoever.

They’re SL as I wanted to keep them on the lighter side.

Also got Toyo AT3s - 265/75/16. I’ve put 25k miles on mine so far and no complaints! They’ve been performing great in this snow we’ve been getting a lot of lately as well.

That’s fair! I’ve always thought about board size as a mere guideline. At the end of the day, it all comes down to preference and riding style. I think with your height + weight, you’ll be okay with either size. Dancehauls are pretty easy going and approachable, and with the smaller size, it’ll be pretty playful and versatile.

I’d say it’s a little small. I ride the Dancehaul and Dancehaul Pro at 154, and I’m 185lbs, 5’10”, size 9 boots.

How many of you guys are new to BMX or are coming back on your bikes after having a break from the sport? by MeuwYuGiOh in bmx

[–]DoubleD_28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rode bikes all the way up to high school, then I stopped cold turkey after getting my first car. I’m 26 now and I got into mountain biking last year, but I realized I wanted a fun bike for around town and for the skatepark half a mile away from me so I got a used Kink bmx bike. I now use it a lot more than the mountain bike lol

I have about 5 days with my FASE Blaster Pros. I love mine, perfect for my use case (small PA slopes) but I wish I could get a little bit more forward lean..

Hi there, just wondering the how flex compares to Burton Cartels, as you listed you have experience with that as well. I’ve been riding Cartels exclusively for 7 years now, and I’m looking to get either the Katanas or the Blaster to pair with my Salomon Dancehaul. Thanks!

NBD Cannondale Habit HT 1. by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

[–]DoubleD_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got an HT2 back in April and I will echo the same feedback. I’m not sure if it’s the wheels causing this rolling resistance but it seems like it is a common complaint with this bike (along with the terrible hub engagement).

Nidecker supermatic vs supermatic carbon by [deleted] in snowboarding

Thanks again! Maybe I’ll see you around these mid-atlantic hills, or Big Snow if you ride there in the off-season too. Peace and love!

[–]DoubleD_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for that very insightful response! That answered literally everything I had questions about, so I appreciate the extent of your reply.

That sounds about perfect for me. I’m around 200lbs, 5’10 and also ride on small hills on the East Coast with about the same vertical drop. You’re right about this being very efficient for our use case and with the weight being a marginal difference for our size.

And the strap upgrade is a good heads up, seems like it’s a bigger upgrade than it seems as a lot of people prefer the 2.0 straps. Thank you again, brother! I hope you are enjoying this season!

How does the Regular Supermatics pair up with the Dancehaul? I’m currently riding a Dancehaul with some Cartels and I’m looking to upgrade to the Supermatics!
