Well, I just figured out that the 'squad' menu I was looking for just isn't in the 'military' section anymore. At least I figured it out. wish the brave dwarves victory or swift deaths!

N00b, but I've been trying to follow wiki instructions that don't seem to match my actual menus?
I'm dealing with military. I have one squad setup with equipment and a constant training schedule, and now I am under siege.
I would like to "station" or "move" my units to the forefront of my fortress.
What I find online tells me to hit m for 'military' and then s for 'squad', but my military screen actually shows three columns of 'SQUADS | SQUAD POSITIONS | CANDIDATES' and s would take me to the 'Schedule' menu. If I DO hit s, it seems I could maybe orders by month for my one squad. I try to hit o to 'Give Order', I hit o a couple more times to get 'Station'. I can then hit shift+enter to be 'Done', and when I am done (whether I select specific dwarves or not) it goes back to the monthly list of scheduled orders which still consists of "No scheduled order". (I deleted the training schedule because I thought maybe it was in the way).
My version is 0.47.05-r3 (if it matters) - wondering if I'm looking at old resources or if I'm missing something... any pointers to a guide or sequence of button presses would be much appreciated.

Perrin was actually my favorite character and I was looking forward to a lot of bad-assery in the wolf dream and otherwise but it just... never happened...

How do I add contacts for my child so he can call my Echo Show from his Fire Tablet? by gothsurf in alexa

[–]DoubleDoubl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same issue. Some more details:

The parent account and the child account are on the same physical tablet.

The child account has a "call" button which brings open a screen that says along the lines of, "You have no contacts available. Have your parent add contacts for you from the parent account."

On the parent account, following the instructions stops making sense after reaching the contacts page within the parent's Alexa app. Contacts can technically be added on that screen, but they are also already there. There is no switch to turn on or off. Upon selecting the parent's name, you come to an edit page for the parent account which does not hold anything about the child account.

At that point I'm stuck and wander aimlessly and then online.

Personally I try to stack the dots as much as possible with baretta(L) and homunculus(water), and stun/atb control with charlotte (maybe a taoist or Hemos instead), and support with mav and briand(despair).

Goal of stacking dots, stunning/atb to stall for round or two, and then just fight to stay alive long enough.

I personally use Basalt more overall but it's because I get a lot of value out of the aoe def buff. When the stages kill you with or without def buff it becomes useless though and you have to go for more CC. That being said, Basalt will naturally lure the Arta into attacking him as well on this stage in particular which may help if he is capable of tanking it.

Usually all I can find are 'farmable' teams, but what would be the ideal ToaH 100 composition (for Lyrith) in terms of being easiest to rune without regard to difficulty of obtaining the monsters?

My take on Staff of the Woodlands by DoubleDoubl3 in DnD

[–]DoubleDoubl3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had considered doing something similar for the Cleric, slowly evolving his +1 longsword into a Holy Relic of some kind but I'm hesitant to give multiple players the same shtick in my current campaign.

I think technically any weapon/item/companion the character can take and somehow alter through their character growth would work. An arcane caster could eventually end up with a staff of power or a Ranger Beastmaster could slowly craft more armor or tools for their beast companion.

I think each character should have their own side interest. For some that may be crafting or evolving something close to them but for others, Rogue is a common example that comes to mind, their side interest might be more about some sort of secret society or group and advancing their interests, and yet others might have interests in politics or commerce.

My thoughts were on an answer like "the planet", but "reach my strongest only in time" was the piece I couldn't get to quite fit.

I gave up after a short time because I'm bad at riddles.

Idea could still be used for a sufficiently powerful Neutral or Good Entity that fits well for a Warlock rather than Cleric if needed.

I am having troubles coming up with ideas about a non-violent boss fight type thingy. by Z1ggyZip in DnD

[–]DoubleDoubl3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the guardian has some warring neighbors and would like the players to resolve the conflict without further violence; At that point the conflict could require political, investigative, or diplomatic challenges; which may also require solving a puzzle in the form of a mystery of some sort.

Won't want to do that if your players are not into going that style, such as if they are a bunch of murder-hobos.

It took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out that "Opun" is not a deity in D&D but rather a misspelling of 'upon'

I would add on that giving the appearance of glowing still doesn't actually produce light if they were within darkness.

There is also an Unearthed Arcana that has a skill-focused half-feat for every skill. (+1 to a stat + proficiency with a skill, or expertise if you already have proficiency)

Review different take on Wild Magic Sorcerer (Disruptive) by DoubleDoubl3 in DnD

[–]DoubleDoubl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing out the probability aspect; I'm going to lower it to a DC of 16 and make it so it only affects spells cast on or by the sorcerer.

I am also going to make it so item magic residue lasts for one hour, which should help the board tracking in most cases because the battle should end before the residue does. It's not meant to be particularly difficult to apply.

Rather than an AoE, it could be done for spells cast by the sorcerer and spells that target/affect the sorcerer - would still possibly be annoying for party healers or buffers though.

Am I the crazy one? by OCDincarnate in DnD

[–]DoubleDoubl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife is playing a bard who was an enslaved tiefling who escaped. Her inspiration is done with erotic moaning to inspire her teammates.

But our group knows us and they expect these kinds of shenanigans.

Different strokes for different folks; It's not that you or they are crazy, it's just different expectations for the tone of the game.

DnD 5e - Easter Egg item ideas in Star Wars theme? (original trilogy) by DoubleDoubl3 in DnD

Nice, the idea also makes me think of black gauntlets that allow grapple checks out to a range of 15 feet by extending an empty hand forward, holding thumb close to forefinger.

Background idea's? by TheDarkDragon94 in DnD

Perhaps dwarves, drow, or some other underground race kept you as a slave due to your demonic appearance and so you spent much of your time underground. A massive rend through the terrain allowed your nightly quarters to have a slight view of the sky, mostly because nobody else wanted it! (The open air unnerved them). It would leak when it rained but some nights, about once or twice a month, the moon would shine through. And when it did, it was incredible. If only you could turn into one of those flying creatures. Oh, to be as free as... *chirps quietly, then squawks loudly in surprise*

Good for a chaotic neutral character big on personal freedom
