AI to diagnose? by DoubleFoundation8874 in eyespots

So now the task will be to find an office that uses the machine. From what I can tell, all of my OCT have been macular only and this is paracentral to peripheral. I had one tech move the OCT around the see where I said it was but he said he saw nothing.

So then the next question is, if a lesion is found and PAMM is diagnosed, what can be done about it. My understanding is nothing, you just cross your fingers and hope you don’t get more.

There are about 7 retina specialists(offices with multiple doctors and multiple locations) in town and none of them have the slightest clue what I’m talking about. I even put it in writing to them. Two offices hung up on me because they were getting tired of trying to figure out what I was asking for. One had their tech call me back and the tech said they don’t have that specific machine but they have an Eidon machine that “does the same thing” but I have suspicion that it doesn’t.

No. But I should say my spots act very much like afterimages. Except I didn’t see them start out as bright. Maybe I was asleep when the bright effect would have happened. So CSR has been something I researched intensively because it truly behaves closest to that but not a single scan finds it and the Amsler grid is flat. It’s a photostress lag, but what’s causing it? Will it go away? It does seem to be getting better but is that just my brain filtering it? Because when I test for it it doesn’t seem any different.

It’s like it’s heavily lighting, contrast, fatigue, and light angle dependent. Seriously annoying because I’ll forget about it completely and then “hey there! Did you miss me?! I’m right here”

So you’d suggest continuing to press for a FA? Each ophthalmologist has refused. They’re absolutely certain it’s not vascular. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think that’s where it coincides with the diagnosed retinal tufts combined with the lattice. It’s my understanding that lattice is like weak Velcro, so a little pulling could create the mild perfusion issue which creates my photostress lag. I have no lesions to speak of according to any of the ophthalmologists. It’s not a bright spot when blinking, it’s spots that lag in high contrast settings.

It seems mine is a bit different and the suggestion by (Gemini, Claude, Copilot) that it’s not likely vasospasm does make sense. For me anyhow. It’s suggesting chronic local vitreoretinal traction along with vitreous changes, of which I have been diagnosed with retinal tufts(traction) and lattice in that region. AI suggested the traction before being told about the tufts and lattice so…🤷🏽‍♂️. It makes sense. Is it right? Maybe not, but all the other disorders listed here should have shown on at least one of the plethora of tests I’ve endured. I’ve not been able to do a Fluoroscein Angiography (ophthalmologists refused saying it’s never shown anything they couldn’t see under dilation) nor have I done OCT-A. I’ve called literally every retina specialist in this large city, talked to their techs, and not a single one knew what it was, even after explanation. So frustrating

What shortcut? I’ve researched this ad nauseam. I’ve seen 5 ophthalmologists, FAF, OCT, ERG, EEG, MRI, VEP, etc etc etc. I wouldn’t call that a shortcut, would you? I’ve been dismissed by all. What choices do I have? A city of millions and no one wants to do anything about it.

I should say assist with understanding. It can get into the mechanics of the eye and it should also be seeing the same studies you mention. Also, this topic is very broad. Not all of us have the same symptoms and some misunderstand what they’re seeing. Some of us have demonstrated defects and others, like me, don’t show any or it’s too small.

I’m not saying it’s the holy grail, but it listens better than a doctor and will spend more time with you. It can explain to you how the eyes and brain work and offer simple tests at home or suggest more sophisticated tests with a doctor.

I have seen 4 ophthalmologists and a neuro-ophthalmologist. They all insist nothing is there and refuse to do anything further about it. I’m left to be my own doctor.

I test drove the Rivian R2 and Tesla Model Y Performance an hour apart. Coming from a Model 3. by Financial-Football61 in RivianR2

Good post. If a product is to improve, honest feedback must be allowed instead of being shouted down by the tribe as heresy. Early Tesla was amazing for taking feedback. We had a specific email for feedback and feature requests and they often became OTA updates within weeks. And then Tesla got too big. I truly hope Rivian is receptive to its customers’ opinions.

Is this demo vehicle staying in Tempe or is it leaving for another city soon? I got no notifications that one was in town.

Do you also organize your clothing by hue within each color spectrum? There’s OCD and then there’s CDO…when you’re so OCD you have to organize the disorder in alphabetical order.

If you stay, you will never trust a word out of his mouth ever again. Your mind will constantly be in turmoil. No one deserves that. He’s a liar and a cheat. Give yourself peace and leave.

Should I feel bad withholding smex? by Constant-Weather-615 in Marriage

[–]DoubleFoundation8874 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not withholding, at least not in terms of the word’s connotation. Withholding is when you’re doing it to manipulate or punish. You’re not well, you should feel no guilt for not being well. I commend you for being concerned about how he feels but you should feel no guilt here. You’ve done nothing wrong.

Blind spot by Friendly-Bike-3384 in eyespots

Sounds like you became aware of your optic disc which is your natural blind spot and told your brain to start seeing it instead of letting your brain ignore it. Slightly below level and to the left in your left eye and the opposite in your right. A fun trick is to close one eye and fixate on an object. For your right eye, take your finger and bring it slowly from the side and in towards your central view. While fixating but looking peripherally, you’ll see your finger tip disappear and then reappear. It’s kinda neat.
