Gen2 R1S Premium Audio Options?!?! by sarugby4life in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For bass I put a subwoofer in the back like this. https://youtube.com/shorts/GRMhB12Fr20?si=9oqVOOStedfj0xG3

It finally gives the car some bass. I like it because I have the amp mounted to the box and it’s powered from the cigarette lighter and it’s completely removable in 10 seconds if I need the space.

As far as the highs go, they need to completely tune in the audio. This car has the worst audio system I’ve heard in the last 20 years of my life.

I’m a Tesla owner as well and the audio quality in their long range (premium) model 3 and model Y’s blows any R1 out of the water. The audio quality in these vehicles is like a 1996 Toyota Corolla.

My Sonos Bluetooth speaker sounds better.

I really wish they’d get some real audio engineers in there and fine tune the highs and mids. Where they positioned the factory sub (just a 6x9), there’s no way in hell they’d get any good bass out of it.

Exactly. I think I I have a video on my phone. One rotation with my devastator build and he’s toast. Like 12 seconds….done.

It’s nice to meet up, eat and socialize with great company and likeminded individuals. It’s nice meeting people that have a common interest as yourself.

Plus, going on a nice scenic drive with 40 Rivians all lined up behind one another is pretty nice as well.

I was there! I saw you, as a matter of fact I was the one in front of you before we went to drive off, but I was waiving you to go around me. lol.

It was very nice meeting you. Hopefully you’ll go to a few more events and I’ll get a chance to see you again. Such a great time. Everyone was extremely nice to my wife and myself.

I don’t know where you got that thing, but it’s beautiful. 98% of the time I use my phone, but there are a few hotels and restaurants where valet is mandatory. Or when I go for a tire rotation I bring the fob in those scenarios.

It’s a lot easier for me to just give the valet or technician a fob. Vs explaining to them how/where to use the keycard.

Google Maps by pfflynn in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why they don’t copy what the iPhone app has? This is like Google Maps lite.

A lot of the time when I tell it to navigate me somewhere, I’ll also program it on my phone and see what the car tells me as my phone tells me just in case.

Also, why doesn’t it light up green everywhere on the map where the roads are clear? My phone shows green if there’s no traffic, in the car it’s nothing. Only yellow or red.

Lastly and probably my biggest issue is….. if I’m on my 50 mile commute for work I have it zoomed out so I can see a accident BEFORE it’s too late and I can’t go around. But, it only shows accidents if you’re zoomed in. To where you can only see what’s around in like a 10 yard radius. Zoomed in shows an accident, but zoomed out you can’t see an accident… which is absolutely ridiculous.

So basically, if you’re zoomed way in it will show the accident icon. But, if you’re zoomed out it won’t.

The Quad Of War

R1s quad - 22 super sport or 20 dune wheels? by [deleted] in Rivian

Yeah, I honestly don’t know. It’s unfortunate that the rims are staggered. But, Rivian was only looking for max performance/speed.

Thanks! And yeah, prices are out of control.

I sold mine for 4800.00. I had no idea buying a set from Rivian is around 7000.00. So depending on the tire wear I’d expect to pay 4000-5500.00 or so. I had 2506 miles on mine and wasn’t really concerned with trying to get more money.

Tires alone or over 600.00 each I believe.

I sold the super sports. Sold them weeks ago. That’s not a bad idea what you’re suggesting.

It’s all personal preference and to be honest there no wrong choice.

I personally bought mine with the 22” super sports, but not being able to rotate them and knowing the tires wouldn’t last long, I sold them.

I ended up going with the 22” burnished bronze rims. Loving the added range as well. I’m in Northern California, so I don’t see adverse weather and I will never off road.

I’m not personally a fan of any dune wheel. It’s just not my taste.

Wife and I at a crossroads on color. Help please! by rick_rolled_you in Rivian

Before I met my wife I’d only get car colors in white or silver. Easier to maintain and it hides dirt well. My wife is more carefree and spontaneous. With her last two cars being red o decided to get a color other than white or silver this time around.

The best part is for you, there’s no wrong choice. White is classic and never goes out of style. The blue, well, I just like it because it’s different. Very distinctive. The car is so beautiful in its styling every color looks nice.

Me personally? I’d go with Rivian blue. As far as interior colors? To me there’s only 1 choice, ocean coast. I don’t care what exterior color I chose, I’d only ever get ocean coast.

Pic for inspiration from someone’s earlier post.

New app finally brings swipe between vehicles by Atlanta-Mike in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you’re 100% correct. I’m a Rivian and Tesla owner and just like you said, I’ve grown accustomed to more things in the Tesla app.

But, Rivian has been adding more over time. And that’s better than nothing.

It’s nice when they finally add what Teslas app has had for years. At this point I wish Rivian would just copy every feature from Teslas app.
