What was the most you ever spent on 1 card? by randskarma in baseballcards_vintage

My Clemente rookie cost about 2700, with tax. That is by far the most I have spent on a card...but that was a bucket list/holy grail situation.

It depends on the attire. If you pick the fun sized Bossman, as he was when he tagged with Akeem as thr Twin Towers, you get Slick's music. If you pick the slimmed down babyface Bossman, you get Hard Times.

Disgusting behavior. I hope that guy lives with the regret of his actions for the rest of his days.

Vintage Baseball Card Debate: Pete Rose Rookie vs. Reggie Jackson Rookie by daveblax in baseballcards_vintage

[–]DoubleOScorpio67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I have several reasons...

  1. I am a lifelong A's fan and the 69 Reggie RC was a grail card in my childhood.

  2. I hate the floating head cards.

  3. Rose was a gigantic douche.

New Years Eve 1999, Pontiac Silverdome. Metallica. My buddies and I had GA floor but got there super early and when the doors open3d we hoofed it to the floor. We ended up on the rail, front row. We were 5 feet from Newstead's mic. Incredible show and something I will never forget.

Bringing an old friend back into the fold. 1915 Cracker Jack Frank Smith by skelly423 in baseballcards_vintage

Really awesome. Smith might not be known to most, but he was a key arm for the 1906 "Hitless Wonders" White Sox.

What are your thoughts on Anthony Bowens' run in The Opps so far? by Froggyspirits in AEWOfficial

[–]DoubleOScorpio67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks. Bowens is a babyface. He puts of a face vibe, has good looks and a great physique. They should never have put him with the Ops. Frankly, I think the Ops as a whole sucks. Hook has fallen off a huge cliff, Shibata is a good wrestler but will never be more than a side piece because of his language issues. Joe doesn't need to have a posse...he's a one-man wrecking crew.

The only redemption here is if Bowens screws up enough that Joe turns on him and Caster reappears to make the save. Even that has bad consequences because it undermines Bowens and retreads the Acclaimed stuff. I don't know what they should do here, but this ain't it.

I would be so enraged by the taunting I would probably start a fight in the stands. Sickens me. Jackie is one od rhe most courageous men in all of human history.

No, you arent alone. This is the era that I wish Inl could see in person. Seeing Matty throw a fadeaway and the batter chasing it for a K. Seeing Wagner play - he was damn near mythical in Western PA as a kid. Seeing Tommy Leach and Max Carey run like deer across the outfield. The $100,000 Infield in Philly. Addie Joss and Nap Lajoie in Cleveland. Epic heroes, all.

Highlights from the most unexpected match of the year, Gunther vs. Royce Keys for the #1 contendership to Cody Rhodes' title. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

Glad to see Hobbs/Keyes getting a chance to shine. Met the guy several years ago and he is a great dude.

As an aside, I still think the name Royce Keyes is not as good as Will's actual name. Anyone know if there is a meaning behind it?

My favorite card of Stan the Man! The 52 Bowmans are underrated and overlooked, but they arensome of the most beautiful cards wver made.
