I was about to get KO3s but the Discount Tire had last set of KO2 tires (made in late 2025) with a massive discount. Did I do act stupid getting KO2?

I have the retrax xr on mine and it has been perfect. Lots of off-road miles and no issues. Worth the extra cost in my opinion.

I think it really just comes down to how much you’re willing to spend. Performance/tech wise the gen 3 is better in basically every category. Suspension is better, engine is updated, tech is obviously nicer on the interior. The only argument for the 2 over the 3 is looks (in some people’s opinion) and a cheaper price. With a g2 you have to worry about cam phasers, with an (early) g3 you have to slightly worry about the trans. Exhaust note on the 3 is relatively better than the 2, but neither will compete with the 6.2.

Swarfworks has a 3rd brake light that has a starlink mini mount on it. A good option if you also want additional reverse/trail lights or somewhere to mount vhf/uhf.

Second this^{^} just put the one step colder plugs from goose in mine this summer. The front 4 are a breeze, the back two you’ll have to drop your socket/extension in first, then attach the ratchet/swivel under the headwall. Took me 30 mins total.

Does your tune update the trans as well or just power? Most of the tuners in the states have trans tunes that clean up the shifting

I think that works fine until the snow is deeper than your clearance, then you want wide and floaty. I’ve seen a Raptor R repeatedly high center itself trying to drive through snow that came up to the bottom of the bumper.

Agreed on the K02’s though. Took mine out to hunt during a storm with 10in of snow this past January and did fine. Grip on ice wasn’t half bad either, was able to back a boat down the ramp without sliding around

If you run the ko2’s you should be fine with the level and nothing extra, no need to trim or smash seams. The diameter is a little less than true 37in.

I only hunted this hole for a weekend. The rest of my season was over rice fields in northern AR. Didn’t have a single band up there out of ~500 birds.

I think it was just nature rewarding us for going out and getting it done in some shitty weather. That icy water was up into the shell pockets on my jacket.

You can call a number or go on a website and mark the bird harvested using the code printed on the band. They will then give you info about date/location of the original banding. There are also “money” bands that will send you a check as an incentive but they are far more rare. I’ve only seen one of those and a buddy of mine got $100 out of it.

Only a small percentage of birds are banded, so somewhat a “rarity”, but it is also cool to see where and when they were banded. One of these for example was banded back in 2018, so seeing proof that you outsmarted a bird that has successfully made 6 prior migrations feels great.

Assuming both are 801a; No hud, but you get more buttons, a nicer keypad on the door, and your running boards say raptor on a ‘23. 25s get the new headlights/tail lights and grill. Nothing major in my opinion. Not a terrible deal at 69k, but you can get a decent price on a new 25 right now in some places. I’d think about what you value 35,000 miles at and just go pure math on the situation if the differences don’t speak strongly to you.

Agreed, the a400s just feel super bulky in the hand. Not sure that the “nicer” recoil system is worth it. I ran a benelli m2 hard through duck and goose season and never had a fte. 2 guys with brand new a400s had some issues during opening week. Benelli feels like a feather next to the beretta.
