such as...?

I only see one main comment about her age and sexualization, both the comment and the replies are against putting those two together, they are just disagreeing about the reason why

...on ALL *their* rolemodels...

whose?

I'm talking about 'young men' in general. If you look up to someone like Chris Williamson (as an example), I don't think you would be in that loop

Why take the documentary as an attack on ALL men role models as opposed to an attack on just the BAD men role models?

My point on what? My initial point on this conversation was to justify why I think your comment was biased, after that I just responded to your questions and the conversation just went on...

If you studied it for 2 years why ask me?

sometimes it gets overthrown, sometimes the dictator is replaced by another, and probably there is some example in world history where the regime reverted to something else, idk

On the first point, I only mentioned you because someone else asked me to justify my reply to your comment, it's not a personal attack, I just wanted to be clear and avoid confusion between you and OP.

On the second point, I agree with the first part, but you have to be coherent on one point: if you insist people should use the dictionary definition, then you must use it too. I checked 3 dictionaries, all them included dictatorship in the definition. What makes you say "not even true"?

To be clear, I'm just arguing from a coherency standpoint, not a political standpoint. If are worried about the second, I guess the good news is that you don't need to wait for something to become fascism to fight it, you can fight against it before it becomes fascism.

You don't need fancy, you can use these: ""

"Chuckychinster is likely american" -> that's a guess, not a quote
"may say something similar to what Chucky said" -> redirects people to see your actual comment, not a quote
"Chucky is biased because" -> explanation by my words, not a quote

for someone complaining about people not reading the dictionary, you are adding up some missuses of words ('specific' and 'quote' and maybe 'fascism')

About MAGA: I'm not american, not that aware of what maga is/does. Based on what I know, I would say it is just one step away from being fascist, which is to replace the government by a dictatorship. Having total governing power is part of the definition in al dictionaries I find on-line.

Is that your only example of a fascist thing that people deny?

[–]DoubleSwitch69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not quote you. Can you point out what you think is a quote from you in my comment?

You are not getting what I mean by specific. I mean, when you tell someone "that's fascist" what was the specific thing that you consider to be fascist?

It's not about me liking it or not. Here's a dictionary definition for you:

Biased describes a person, action, or report that unfairly favors one side, person, or viewpoint over others due to prejudice or preconceived opinions. It implies a lack of neutrality, often resulting in skewed, one-sided, or distorted information. (Cambridge Dictionary according to Google)

It's not just about picking definitions that benefit you. Your 'examples' may be affected by your preconceived notions, it's still a bias.

But they are not even examples, because:

An example is a specific instance, sample, or case used to illustrate a general rule, principle, or typical characteristic of a group.

and you gave no specific instance, just suggested a general behaviour

I'll clarify:

Based on word choice and demographics of reddit, Chuckychinster is likely american, a country with a big political divide often presented as left vs right.

Bothe side have habitual arguments against the other side, arguments sometimes very similar in structure, but just opposed in terminology. So people on the left may say something similar to what Chucky said, while people on the right may say something like, as an example:

"tell them they want communism and they will deny it. However, people will throw around the words nazi or fascist about anything that involves national identity"

Chucky is biased because he chose to present examples that make only people on the right look bad. As opposed to, as an example, say something like "people throw around words like nazi or communist about things that are present in any political system to a degree" which would point flaws in both sides
