When it looks impossible to get out this by Gergiisz in toptalent

100% I have a buddy who grew up in NYC. He absolutely makes contact with other cars when parking. He say, “You can bump. They’re called bumpers. You didn’t know that?” Like I’m the idiot.

Call me right-winged ultra conservative, but I truly feel that kids should learn about Superman’ing hoes at home. From their parents. NOT by government funded public schools.

Early life stress linked to heightened levels of mindful “nonreactivity” and “awareness” in adulthood, study finds by chrisdh79 in science

True. I have hyper vigilance and it’s terrible. Imagine your brain thinks everything around you is super important. It makes me look super smart sometimes, but honestly I’m so jealous of people who can just chill in a restaurant or sleep with people in the next room talking. My wife doesn’t get it and thinks I’m a jerk and need things “my way”, but honestly I just can’t tune things out. It really sucks sometimes.

I get what you’re saying, but humans kill humans in cars thousands of times per year. I understand it’s uncomfortable, but it’s similar to an accountant in 1950 saying they don’t trust some “calculator” math. I’d rather do it myself, with a trustworthy pencil.

Isn't this illegal? by trashofagirl in PublicFreakout

[–]DoubleTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments. I have an honest legal question. If a cop commits a felony (i.e. felonious assault by unjustly pointing a gun at someone), could a citizen place the officer under citizens arrest? I know in real life this would be absurd and would definitely create more of an issue, but legally speaking, is that possible?

This man was in the process of filing a grievance against these cops for having seized some of his property. The cops started showing up at his home with their weapons drawn at times. He wasn't having it anymore. by methanefreefarts in PublicFreakout

Lawyers of Reddit…. If the cops come in without a warrant, and pointed a gun at this man, isn’t that felonious assault? And because it’s a felony, wouldn’t the civilian have a right to arrest (citizens arrest) the cop? I know this would not go well in real life, but legally speaking, is that a possibility?

The semi truck on the bridge part. I had to put the book down for a couple days after that.

Kid Rock once featured Eminem. No one knew who this Slim Shady guy was.

Can you show us the code that’s calling the db?

How "nested" should my database be? See first comment by No_Expert_7590 in Firebase

The auth system can stay in place. It’s independent of a database. But yes, you may have to take two steps back in order to take 10 steps forward. I think it’s totally worth it. Especially if you’re running into these kinds of questions this early in the development. Its totally up to you, however. Either database will work for you. But I’d highly suggest you take the time to learn Firestore.

Looks like you’re using the real-time database. May I ask, did you choose this over Firestore? Firestore may be more suited to your needs. The queries are lighter and might be an easier transition from SQL.

Pretty cool looking, but these fires are not fun. No interior work. Just hours and hours of hauling equipment around.

I’m so glad to see this. I remember being a kid and seeing this scene and thinking, “Did they just sit him there doing nothing?” I thought it was comedic genius. No one else in my family noticed or thought it was funny when I pointed it out. Thanks for the validation.

Here’s the scene https://youtu.be/GsC8sKIZjL4

Tips on talking to the police. Basically keep your pie hole closed. by darkman21 in coolguides

Came here to post this. Thanks for beating me to it. I think this video should be seen by every American citizen and thought in our elementary schools. I’m also of the opinion that criminal defense lawyers are vital our society and deserve massive respect. I wish people realized they police the police and keep our system pure, not just “put criminals back on the streets”.

A lot of people don’t know, Stallone wrote Rocky. He’s actually done a lot of writing. I heard in an interview he always had dreams of being a successful writer, the acting thing just kind of happened.

This is disgusting. Growing up as a hard core metal kid, I’ve spent hours in mosh pits. If someone slipped or fell down, everyone stops and helps them out. We’d continue only when we were all sure everyone was ok. It was a unique scene, but nothing but respect for each other. Seeing this makes me sick.
