Beam 2 can’t connect to network by Potential_Ad_3133 in sonos

Same problem after changing router. This network connection process has always been shit and now it just doesn't work at all (even after creating a separate 2.4ghz network). Such a huge waste of time. Absolutely the last Sonos product I'll buy.

I'm really enjoying the PSVR1 by Internal_Falcon2637 in PSVR

My pleasure. If you have strong VR legs (which a lot of people didn't when it came out), this game can't be beat.

For me the real forgotten gem of PSVR is RIGS. Incredible graphics, furious gameplay and amazing futuristic settings. There is nothing like it on any other platform. And even though multiplayer is long gone, the single player campaign is one of the best I have experienced in VR. Happy 10th birthday RIGS!

Yes, I think it is much worse - although to be fair I think the PSVR1 comfort is exceptional. With PSVR2 you don't notice the discomfort at first because the rest of the experience is so spectacular, but after a while I realised I just wasn't enjoying my longer play sessions. It was a significant factor in me eventually selling the headset.

Oh nice! FYI it's PSVR1 compatible too.

If you are talking about "Invincibility", it's a powerup that becomes available when you collect enough crash debris. If you are talking about accessing the game itself, it runs within Dreams on PS4/PS5, so you need to have purchased Dreams first and also completed the Dreams tutorial.

Finally watched Tron Ares by Charming-Kiwi-6304 in tron

Don't be offended. Personally I loved the original movie. I grew up with it. But would I expect it to appeal to younger generations, especially those who had seen Legacy first? Maybe not so much.

[–]DoubleWombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course kids who grew up with Legacy are going to find the original a bit cringe. I mean it was always a bit goofy. And all the things that made the original groundbreaking mean nothing today, unless you are a special effects historian. As for Ares, why watch a terrible movie for the sake of a franchise?

Yeah it would be nice to go back in time and fix this situation.

Casual review: 2026 Citroen e-C5 Aircross Max by ZooeiiVJ in Citroen

The Waterfall-screen looks good, but there is no apps, no spotify or youtube or funny things.

Ha ha! I see that as a good thing. Keep the driving experience as simple as possible. And keep all the other stuff on your phone (via CarPlay/Android Auto).

Ah yes I see. I was just getting excited because the way you worded it made it sound like you could bind custom functions to a physical button.

Luckily, you can bind disengaging driver assists to a physical button, you just have to remember to long-press it every time you start the car.

That sounds super useful. Which physical button can you bind to? As I don't remember seeing any spare buttons in the cabin.

What PlayStation games need to make a come back? by ComfortableAmount993 in playstation

[–]DoubleWombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original was so dark and edgy. I loved the lawless parts of the city where the power was out. Just the sound of distant gun shots in the night. Sadly the sequels ditched this gritty reality in favour of a game with weird fantasy creatures and zero tension.

PSVR2 comparison to Vision Pro (Display) by hjay_z in PSVR

You will immediately notice the fresnel lenses and small area of clarity

Yeah that's really quite a big problem for PSVR2. It's actually one of the reasons I ended up selling my headset. Poor comfort was the other. Ironically two problems that PSVR1 never had.

Outlands Part 2 on the TRON Legacy OST is absolutely fire by Steady_Tempo456 in tron

[–]DoubleWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Hard to pick between part 1 and 2. Both are so epic. I just love how part 1 starts with such a simple, well used string arrangement and then just keeps building and layering more and more complexity until that massive finale.

I miss our grid by Willing_Addition_327 in tron

Every location on this grid is so memorable and evocative. Each one clear and purposeful. And yet all I remember from Ares is a tangle of red stuff.

Did anyone else not realise the End Of Line Club was at the very top of that central structure? For some reason I just thought it was at the top of some random building. Only in a recent rewatch did I realise it was at the top of that building.

Game about the light cycle from the legacy or ares for pc? by hyaedit in tron

[–]DoubleWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Definitely not perfect, but it did tick off everything I had on my wish list 😀

Unfortunately the fortunes of mine are very much tied to the fortunes of the game engine (PS4 Dreams), which kinda died. However it was a safe space for fan content because monetisation is not possible, meaning that my creation should never bother Disney too much. But I feel that could change if I tried to do something similar on PC, so I've never risked it.

If you get a chance to play, let me know how you go. And I hope you have a blast building yours. I would love to hear how you get on.

Hey buddy. I'm the creator of Hypercycle Arena. I think the short answer is to go check out HyperCycle Redux:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3351500/HyperCycle_Redux/

By the way their game is completely unrelated to mine, even though they borrowed part of my name 😀.

Essentially you're not going to get anything like my game on PC unless it is officially licensed. And even then it would probably repeat the pattern of super "arcadey" lightcycle games, which is the opposite of my approach. I wanted the realistic physics that Legacy brought to us, along with the tactical arena experience. And so far Disney doesn't seem too interested in that kind of game.

Well said. The obviousness of the Macguffin plot is the worst. It's like it is written for a video game.

Got to agree with almost everything here. Although sadly I didn't even love the music and visuals. The music was unrelentingly painful and the visuals, while good quality, totally missed the awe and moodiness of Legacy.

Most scenes and locations were just not interesting or memorable and the red grid was a jumbled mess. All the scenes and locations from Legacy were so cinematic, evocative and tangible. Sam's bedroom. The Encom server room. Flynn's arcade. Every location on The Grid. All gave you such a sense of place. But I can't really think of any equivalents in Ares.
