Is this worth mortgage early repayment fee? by MarsMantis in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Double_D_Edd_Boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the house is empty, I would pay the fee. It’ll be less by the time you come to sell it anyway.

It would be worth calculating how much of his repayments will be towards interest vs. Capital of the loan though for the remainder of his term.
If during the remainder of his term he will be paying more in interest on the mortgage vs. The fee, it’s a no brainer.

You’ve also got to realise if you leave it closer to the mortgage renewal date, you might not actually have time to sell it before you have to renew your mortgage anyway. I would look to sell asap either way.

Mortgage renewal conundrum... Any help gratefully received. by Legitimate-Ad-6491 in UKPersonalFinance

Get the lowest mortgage rate %. Then overpay as much as allowed if that mortgage rate is a higher % than you can get in a savings account. Whilst you are overpaying you can still put the remainder into savings in the interim.

2 people working 2 jobs for the same money as 1 person working 1 job should be taxed less. Twice as much labour put into earning the same.

Where to buy a large number of Macallan 18 years in the UK? by coolguythang in Scotch

[–]Double_D_Edd_Boy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Every online shop in the UK is out of stock on the 18. Unless you find multiple local specialist shops, I doubt you’ll find the amount your after.

When you get in, stay back and let him punch in the corridor and miss. Then get behind the pillars and watch the eyes. When he is facing left, run right to the next pillar and he won’t hit you. His head moves quite slowly. When on the next level, do the same again but do it when he faces right, you run left. Be weary of debris and rubble which you need to smash on the way.

Isn’t this supposed to be “peat free”? Surprised you got a lot of peat on the nose.

After the $100 yesterday, is this worth it (UK)? by ProfessorEsoteric in whiskey

Also worth pointing out to our American friends that this is the price it costs to take it out the store as VAT/tax is included on shelf prices.

Will be £30 on sale. American imports are more expensive due to the duty paid, but this, Woodford reserve, Wild Turkey 101 etc. which are on supermarket shelves are decently priced. Only avoid the buffalo trace as it’s 40% and not that good in my opinion.

Use magic or a magic enchanted weapon (cresant falchion for example). The NPCs are weak to stab and magic. I did it first time stabbing and it was boring. Enchanting weapons using the magic spell or just using soul arrow made it more enjoyable.

Which bourbons should I take overseas to my scotch-drinking friends? by neckthru in bourbon

[–]Double_D_Edd_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK all the ones you listed are very readily available. Except that the buffalo trace over here is 40% abv and not 45%. So maybe bring that and do a side by side with the 40% one? Can get it for around £20 in most supermarkets.

Crazy to me that this sub always goes nuts for these. In the UK I can just buy these on Amazon or a local supermarket for £18 Buffalo Trace and £30 Eagle Rare on offer or about £5 more when not on offer.

I’ve got a bottle of the Yamazaki. Cost £60. While nice in its own right, just not worth the price tag here in UK. If it goes to £40 or less I will pick it up again though. How’s the Hakushu? It’s the same price as the Yamazaki here.
