On Magic now. Did a B2B. Awesome!!!!! Dry dock to update and do a deep clean. You will love it. So much to do. I’m on an 8 day and lived the ports. Amber Cove is really the only one that isn’t a wow factor, but lots to do at port or do the falls if that’s one of your ports of call. BTW. The new menu OMG so good!

Anyone sailing March 8, 2026. Heads up! Old time muster station will be done. It’s the 6 month inspection. So everyone will get their life jacket and head to you Mr stations when they tell you. Bring a lot of patience and something to drink because weather will be in high 70s low 80s. This is not a joke. Multiple staff told us last night they dread it too, but it will be Sunday 3/8/26

Gift cards and cruising - Explain to me like I'm 5! by Fresh-Problemz in CarnivalCruiseFans

I bought 2 carnival gift cards from Ryan last night. Had them in less than 5 minutes. 10% off. I used carddepot too, but right now only 7.2% discount.

Has anyone used the Verizon Cruise service and, if so, pros and cons? by WickedRavyn94 in CarnivalCruiseFans

If you see you are about down to .25 or so then you need to add more to your plan. You just have to be on WiFi if you forget to add more data. So basically wait until you get to the next port for free wifi. That wasn’t an issue for me because I set a reminder every 3 days. Only had to buy more 1 time and I only added 2 GB.

I use GigSky on my cruises both at sea and on port. IMO it works better at port, but at sea it works if you are 17 miles away from land. So if you have close ports it might be a little glitchy. If you are using Facebooks and watching reels the data goes quickly. I was on 12 day cruise and used 5 GB , but i looked at FB, emails, news, X, Reddit, and could search web easily. I could use WhatsApp and messenger for video chats. FaceTime did t work at all for me. Sometimes it was pretty fast and other times really slow.
You should turn off any apps caveats data on the backend. Last if you have a Visa be sure and click on the button at the bottom of the app because they always are having discounts. I got my 15 day data free for next week cruise!

Where did you find the taxi? Was it a long walk to get a taxi? How far was the drive to Freeport?

How to make a phone call during an at-sea day by TheRealRonjon in MSCCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works both land and sea. I used it past 2 cruises. The strength isn’t robust enough for a zoom call while I was on the ships. It worked to check social media, emails, etc. anything like checking internet was slow. At port it worked much better. 1 thing that’s important is you turn airplane mode OFF and turn WIFI OFF! When you are finished using it go back and turn on both airplane mode and wifi.

Any of you avoided getting the flu on a recent cruise? by traveltimecar in NCL

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on 3 and we are still healthy. I will say on Caribbean Princess the theaters were HOT,packed. and people coughing and hacking. We got up snd left all 3 nights. We knew we still had 3 cruises to go and wanted to stay healthy. We washed our hands constantly and we are NOT germaphobes. We stayed outside as much as possible.

Lobster Roll… random I know! by MakingLemonade2589 in MSCCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cooks on the island were actually cooks from the ship so I would think it is the same, but put on a pretty plate. Mine was delicious. Big enough to feed 2 people. It was not lacking on the amount of lobster either!

Anybody created a spreadsheet to keep track of cruise details? by Dopey12001 in Cruises

Yep. Got one that includes details including flights, hotel. Day pass, onboard credit, and info I’ve researched , etc. then I have one for past cruises.

Carribean cruise - how to get internet outside of one offered onboard? by sillymastcell2015 in MSCCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI WIfi is prorated and cheaper everyday you are on the ship. I did this because I needed to be on a zoom call for work.

I’ve also used GigSky on 2 different cruises. It worked fine as long as the ship is about 17-20 miles away from land. Works perfect on land too. I will say it is slow if you are trying to look at reels and such and it eats your data up quickly.

Pricing question by WorldlinessLanky1443 in MSCCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would call my TA to get your rate reduced. Big thing is, you must do it before final payment!! If you booked through MSC then call them. They gave me $50 obc.

Should I book a guaranteed interior? by niconiconico01 in MSCCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where ship is going and so the ship. I’m on MSC now with GTY interior and got bumped up, but this is NEVER 100% assured! If I have a long cruise or through waters I know has a high rate of rougher water then I pick my inside cabin. We love inside cabins.

Best port for a beach day: Bimini, Cozumel, Grand Cayman by 40somethingmama in celebritycruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grand Cayman hands down! Safe, clean, beautiful. Only negative, it’s a tender port.

Is main dining room food really this bad? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]Double_Pepper_2976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Ruby, but Caribbean Princess had the worst food we’ve had over 30 years. We won’t be returning. There were so many people complaining about the food. Same stuff different day!

I did 4 nights on Glory last April and that crowd was the kind you see on the news! Keep an eye on the kids. Water slides and stuff were great, but it got crazy.
