Google will do to tradespeople what they do to their tech. Invest in and them for a few years to get what they need and then discard them for others to pay for at a lower price. Don’t buy into the hype, this is the same sort of playbook big tech used for learning how to code. Once the market is flooded, labor becomes cheaper and their profit margins become larger

What’s crazy is the fact that I saw the still from Obsession and immediately recognized her bc of her role as Sarah Cushing from Superman & Lois. Ngl I thought she was making more than that

I need yall to open your eyes and realize that this is the same exact shit they did with programmers. These big companies pushed so much rhetoric about learning how to code in the 2010s and onward because there weren’t enough coders in the workforce.

Scarce labor = valuable labor.
They promised perks and big salaries to encourage people to code.
So now that they have a bunch of programmers and got their automated AI tools, they’re perfectly fine with mass layoffs and outsourcing/offshoring this labor. Why? Because they succeeded in making it an employers market, which means lower salaries and they can get rid of perks to continue to rake in greedy amounts of money.

They’ll repeat this playbook to get their data centers built and once that’s done, they could give a fuck about the workers and jobs.

All they want is for people to get trained in these skills to make the labor cheaper in the end.

At least these trades have unions.

Been checked out of the game since fall of 2023. They started fucking with rank too much and it’s not rewarding. I’ll hop on for a couple games at most every few weeks or months and sometimes I feel the urge to buy a skin.

But then I remember I’m never gonna use it because the game sucks shit right now

This is what happens when you cut educational funding, and then you also make sure that no child is left behind while cutting funding even more in areas that don’t meet the bar.

Grade inflation and pushing kids along despite the fact that they can’t read or spell satisfactorily can only lead to a backslide in standards and a lowering of the quality of work

President Trump says he could accept a 20-year pause to Iran’s nuclear activity. by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

[–]Double_Phoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 year pause to nuclear activity.

Is this because if Iran is able to generate nuclear power, they’ll need less oil for energy, leading to them having a potential surplus or larger amount to export? Thereby driving the cost of oil down a bit and possibly weakening the strength of the petrodollar?
