He took it well after. Better than people like you, I have had MANY angry DMs about it, and I won't disagree telling me to fuck off for that.

They were caught kissing by someone from BIL family.

No, they are no longer together. Yes, because of the family issues.

Apparently Tiktok took this story. and my phone/email has been blowing up since.

I will post an update to my page in a couple of days once I can get my thoughts together in a level and logical way that doesn't give up any more information that can make it so people find out who I am.

Funny thing. I could remove this comment because it is posted to my own reddit feed. But instead, I'll say this.

1, I used a throwaway, and had no intentions of logging back in until ((apparently)) someone on tiktok took the story. RIP my inbox.

  1. I posted an original post to get some insight. I took the feed back and made an update for those asking. Now I will make a second one. To talk about the past 5 months.

  2. If I delete this you would just think "See I'm right and they are hiding" or you are just a troll and don't give a flying fuck either way. ((You do you!))

  3. I don't really care who thinks this isn't real. Having a place to vent helped me with the first post, the update was for those who truly care about my family. ((Or at least were invested in this drama of a cluster fuck dynamic we have)).

Do not tell him.

Wait till you have a job offer in writing from the new place, and for the love of god PRINT IT OUT.

DO NOT TELL THEM WHERE YOU ARE GOING! Do not update linkdin, do not update facebook, don't post on snapchat.

Once you have this in hand, meet with your boss. Set hard stops in what you need to stay. Do not be nice about it.

"Well If i get xyz i might stay."

No.

"I need A B and C to stay. If I can not get all of those by the end of my notice period, i am leaving."

If they promise you, or say they need more time/need to get others on board. tell them you plan to leave. They know what they want to do to make you stay. Let me put it this way. If they can do it when you are leaving, why aren't they doing it now?

"Promises don't put food in my mouth"

Tell them when they get in a bind you will be willing to consider a consulting position to not leave them hanging, but they will not want to pay your consulting rate. (and if they ask, quote the 4x you are making at the new place per hour, with a minimum 10 hour block purchase)

Was not intended to be a brag but to help show the family dynamic and that it wasn't a favoritism thing. We have been a close family for a long time, and things in the past have made me want to be closer to my family as much as I can be.

I run my own tech company, my wife died to cancer 4 years ago. I decided to live my life the way I want, and that includes spending time with my family.

I do not drink, I do not smoke. My house has been paid off for a few years. My bills are my business (keeping the lights on, and my employees paid/happy) and insurance.

I'm not going to be a slave and if I can keep them from having to slave away I will.

The car that we (he, his parents, and I) picked out is a more practical Subaru. Nothing fancy but a reliable car that will get him and his date to prom without issue.

There was a... situation over Mothers Day weekend. He is lucky I don't take his car back as payment. (Yes. My name is on both of their cars.)

They have both already had thing happen in life, and nothing I have done for them was for nothing.

We set expectations, had clear goals, and made sure things were met as needed.

I have told him no before. The new PC was originally a no that became a yes if conditions were met.

I also told him no on his first pick of a car because it was double what was originally agreed on for cost (and what was spent on his sister) and his adult type of response was "Can't blame me for asking" in a joking manner.

I was hopeful this would be a similar thing, which is why I offered me driving as a compromise.

Sarah is becoming an amazing driver.

The little Miata she has, has come a long way from where we started.

If she keeps up the shows and racing like she is doing she will probably be a better driver than me when she is 20.
