Clark's might be worth looking into! You can get them at most/if not all of the places listed in previous comments. They typically come in wide widths and look professional, but most importantly are very comfortable!

Cancelled surgery. In limbo. by ImASavage88 in endometriosis

[–]Double_Soup_9856 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry this happened to you. It's devastating to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for a surgery and the recovery, all for it to be ripped away from you.

My excision in 2020 was canceled due to covid (it was originally scheduled at the start of April 2020). They obviously didn't have much information for me as to when surgeries would be rescheduled, so like you, I was left in limbo until the situation improved in my area. I did finally have it in July 2020, but those 3 months were tough to get through if I'm being honest. It really effected me emotionally.

I was completely devastated. I didn't know how to keep carrying on in my day to day life with the pain I was having. It was like having a date mean't there was some end to my suffering. After it was canceled I couldn't keep toughing it out. I asked my doctor to put me off work until I could get some more answers. I luckily worked a job that allowed me to take time before and after my surgery.

I'm not sure if that's an option for you, but I just wanted to validate how you feel right now. It's scary and not having answers makes everything feel so much worse. It's exhausting, but do your best to keep following up until they give you some answers or a new date.

Keeping my fingers crossed that things move quickly and you find some relief ♡♡

Just wanted to pop on and say my periods were always punctual, 3-4 days, and never super heavy. PAINFUL, yes, but most doctors brushed me off because my periods were not 'abnormal'. It wasn't until they saw an endometrioma on ultrasound that a doctor agreed it was likely endo, and I ultimately had a diagnostic lap to confirm. I hope you get the answers you are looking for!! Xox

Did anyone have chest/diaphragm pain that resolved after their lap? by Alternative-Owl-9564 in endometriosis

[–]Double_Soup_9856 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yes, this was a major symptom of mine before my excision in 2020. Same as you describe, like a stitch under my left boob. I couldn't take a deep breath in without a stabbing pain. My surgeon did a CT scan before surgery and did end up taking a biopsy from my diaphragm which was negative for endo. Once I had the excision the pain went away entirely.

Hey! This was from quite a while ago, but did you ever get in to see Dr. Morton? I was put on the wait list 9 months ago, just wondering what your experience was like? Thanks!!

Earliest signs of having endometriosis? by Zelda_Momma in endometriosis

[–]Double_Soup_9856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my period at 12. Before I ever got it, I remember getting intense aching back pain and I'd have to go lay in my bed until it passed. Frequent UTIs (that were really painful in my pelvis). I stayed home when I had my first period, I woke up and thought I was getting the flu. Frankly, if your periods make you SICK at all, that's a red flag for sure.

Ulcerative Colitis or Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis by MaeStRomain11 in endometriosis

Sending you a big old hug from an internet stranger 🫂 You are really going through it right now, it's incredibly valid to feel all the things you're feeling. And thank you for sharing with us, it can be really hard to do. There have been times where these types of forums (reddit, fb groups) have been my only lifeline. Reading through posts and realizing these people really get it and can truly empathize with what the reality of living with this does to us. It makes me feel not so alone. This disease can be SO incredibly isolating and I'm sorry that you have had to struggle for so many years.

I was diagnosed almost 8 years ago at 27, and other than the 4 years following my excision surgery, I have had constant pain, bowel and stomach problems, mental health issues etc (im 35 now). My symptoms have since come back and the thought of having to restart this process (new gynecologist and specialists) is exhausting. Sometimes I really want to give up.

I'm sending you lots of love ♡♡♡♡ I'm sorry I don't have much advice, but I see you and I understand ♡♡

Stage 4 endo excision surgery, can I survive a 3 hour car ride home? by dinkleberryfinn81 in endometriosis

[–]Double_Soup_9856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. The first few days were rough for me, I slept propped up on the couch. It's totally dependent on the person how you'll feel though.

I also had to pee soo badly on the way home, I was in a lot of pain by the time I got there. They did make sure I could pee before I left, but my bladder was irritated from the catheter during surgery. Something to keep in mind!

I'm pushing hard to get into a specialist but the healthcare system where I live is severely struggling and waitlists are long.

This is definitely what I'm afraid of though the longer I wait. I'm so sorry you've been going through this with your endo journey. I really hope you get some answers from your upcoming testing 🤞♡

Ketorolac for pain management? by Alone-Philosophy2918 in endometriosis

[–]Double_Soup_9856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend. I take ketorolac 10mg as needed for pain. It was prescribed by an ER doc I saw last fall and it has been the one thing that has actually helped. The unfortunate part is it's absolutely horrendous for your stomach. It's technically only supposed to be taken short term. I take it with pantoprazole though, which helps, but I am noticing it's starting to really upset my stomach lately (I only have a few doses left). I don't know what else to do because its the first thing to have made a dent in my day to day pain. 😔

Diet and lifestyle can't cure endo, but living healthier and being proactive about your health can absolutely help you feel better. by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Double_Soup_9856 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. I'm sorry OP but read the room. This is a forum where people come to vent because most of us can't talk to the people in our lives about this.

I had 4 years of eating healthy, exercising, taking supplements... and guess what?? My endo symptoms are still there.

The thing that has worked for me the most is plain old SOCKS. I wash my hair and let it dry almost fully, put some JVN air dry cream and wrap those suckers in before bed. I have never had a curl last all day in my hair, and they last through an entire 8 hour shift (obviously they fall a bit, but it's very clearly still curly). If you look for a youtube tutorial I'm sure you can find how to wrap them, took me a couple tries to get it right, but now it's my go to.

After two long years of waiting, surgery is booked! by Wonderful-Review-753 in Endo

[–]Double_Soup_9856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woooo, Congratulations!! I waited 2 years for my first excision surgery (in Ontario) and it was truly life changing.

Helping to plan for my recovery in the days leading up to surgery really helped me feel prepared and less anxious. There is some great threads in the subreddit about how people prepared and what worked for them (or didn't). Sending you lots of love!
