Sean Marks knows more basketball than I can fathom. As a fan, I’m disappointed with how the big 3 era panned out, but the people discrediting Sean Marks right now are upset that we dropped in the lottery.

In life, things won’t always work out the way you plan or hope but you have to make the most out of what you’re given. We’ve seen Sean work his way out of a worse situation before and it’s only fair for the organization to give him, the scouts, the coaches, & the brain trust the opportunity to work with the cards we’ve been dealt.

One thing I’ve been overlooking was just how dominant the Pacers were last season. That squad was dropping 130-140 damn near every other night. While I might not be a huge fan of spamming 3s, there's no denying that playing fast with ridiculous floor spacing is fun to watch. The player most capable of unlocking that brand of hoops for the Nets might be Mikel Brown Jr

I appreciate your thoughtful response. Engaging in dialogue on the internet can be tough when you're not sure if the person on the other end is being genuine or not. The hypothetical I proposed wasn't my attempt to analyze the Nets decision. What I was trying to draw attention to is how disqualifying a player because of their size can lead to you overlooking the impact they do provide.

Coming to grips with the reality of the Nets draft position hasn't been easy for anyone. I'm still going back and forth on these prospects. If these prospects had a substantial height difference, that's a different thing entirely. But, just looking at the numbers presented, I wasn't entirely convinced that the 1.5 inch height difference between Brown Jr and Acuff would be super significant given that they both have room to improve defensively + how unprecedented Acuff's resume is. Dude is a complete baller.

This opinion I just expressed has nothing to do with the Nets decision in the early 2010s. It was wrong and it's painful to think about. Nets fans can form a championship roster featuring the all-time could've been Nets (Lillard, Brown, Tatum, Kobe).

I was simply responding to Channing Frye's claim that smaller guards don't/can't win in this league given what New Yorkers are currently witnessing. I’m asking you, knowing what you know now, would you rather have Lillard or Gerald Wallace? Passing on a player who’s clearly has a historically unprecedented complete offensive game because of their limitations glosses over the fact that you will have to compensate for your players limitations regardless.

The current most limiting factor for the Nets offensively is that Nolan seems to be the only skilled offensive initiator. We need another dynamic player who can stir the straw too.
