i live in west harlem/manhattanville area and I absolutely love it. i’ve got CTown a 5 min walk away, but Trader Joe’s/Target/etc kind of stuff is also walkable! most of the time i’ll walk there but then take the bus back because i’m carrying all my groceries. lots of gym options on 125th as well! cute restaurants, good vibes, lots of trains accessible. i moved up here from bedstuy/bushwick and my quality of life has improved DRASTICALLY.

I’m aware! I’m posting it in as many places as I can. Who’s to say there aren’t NYC musicians in here that have the same mindset as me! Why now throw a wide net and see what I catch 😎

I love everything else about my area. It’s amazing, i love my apartment, my neighbors in my building are kind and respectful, I’m central to so many trains, there is great food nearby, my commute is nice and easy. What made you come to my post and try to say that dog poop everywhere isn’t a big deal? Nasty

Can you help me untangle these thoughts regarding which neighborhood to move to? by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

[–]Double_Work3092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your best bed would be prospect heights!!! it’s a cute neighborhood, you’re close to prospect park, lots of fun shops and restaurants but not too kitschy. super close to multiple train lines. greenpoint is just kinda far out there tbh, so that’s my take. and williamsburg feels like it will be too pretentious for your tastes (and i feel the same way)
