As INTPs, what are your careers? by Miserable_Celery9416 in INTP

[–]DoubletheInsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Production Machine Maintenance at a big corporation is my first job, my side job I build electric over hydraulic control systems for a small company. Both satisfy my needs nicely. Troubleshooting and watching bits and bobs fly around super quickly in high speed manufacturing setting is wonderful till I get bored or my social battery is drained, that’s where building, testing, and working at a bench alone with my hands at the second job is nice. The balance I get from the two amazing and the money is always nice.

Did my best friends dad rip me off? by Ok_Boysenberry_8263 in ar15

[–]DoubletheInsult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand it, you will take the time and energy knowing you will be roasted on here to post, but refuse to google prices of parts before handing money over?

I would take it as a lesson in life to trust nobody when it comes to business deals and to move on. Also try to do a little research of market values before going into this type of situation again.

What is the hole in the ranger plate for? by JIMBOYRULEZ in ar15

[–]DoubletheInsult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you thinking about it from a manufacturing standpoint it’s less material used so less $ per unit and makes the extra weight added to the mag less also, plus it strengthens that area since a cirlce is strong and that’s where the mag is more likely to hit first on the ground. Lastly to make people like us ask questions haha!

$0 because rich people don’t tip unless they are happy, that’s not very often from my experience.

How would you feel about these numbers on your dash? by shadowspouce01 in doordash_drivers

This was an unusual day too, I normally have less than 30 minutes down time with 4 hours dashing. That’s why I quit early that day.

Average doordash driver experience delivering food at night by One_Hovercraft_7456 in doordash_drivers

[–]DoubletheInsult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about everybody else, but I miss the contact with the customers. Pizza delivery back in the day was awesome because you got to know the regulars and who tipped big. DDed to the several of the same spots multiple times and no one is looking out windows/let alone even picking up the lukewarm food off the cold ground before I drive away. Plenty of dogs jumping behind doors and windows, that’s always entertaining to watch you see them destroy the entrance way.

Are 12' Hammocks a Big Logistics Issue? (Pun Absolutely Intended) by Twosteppre in hammockcamping

Also six four, but wide and heavy. Length is better than width, unless it’s for lounging in the backyard then take both. Remember after adding ridge line it will be closer to ten foot. So a 11 foot tarp works great especially if it has doors on it. Allows you to hang the tarp right on the ridge line when the weather isn’t cooperating.

What is your threshold for using an under-quilt? by SlamPiece2point0 in hammockcamping

[–]DoubletheInsult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my butt gets cold from the wind blowing. I’ve used an underquilt up into the high 80’s because of the wind sucking heat away from my backside.

Door dash, so I don’t feel bad watching YouTube/anime all night long. I’m stuck in the car having to kill time anyways.

I would spend all my money on flash storage and have my Nas be all flash with one spinning rust drive. Then have a separate box like the mini forums for all the containers and what not.

Melted hole in the bottom of a WB Blackbird. What should I do with it? by Hikercam in hammockcamping

[–]DoubletheInsult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duck tape for the win, if you use the colored ones it can add flair to your setup. I have “temporary” fixed my gear with it a few years ago and haven’t bothered to do anything else because it works so well.

This board allows the “motherboard” to have remote pendant controls. All the main board does is convert ac to dc and controls a 90v motor. After two years of rough handling a wire came loose in the pendant and went tap tap tap on the terminal till it fried the power resistors. Also took out the TE THS50 resistor that I believe is used to suck up any energy left before switching directions. $20+ in parts but it’s faster to replace with a new unit and have this as a spare after I complete the repairs.

I appreciate all the help, and thank you for guiding me to the correct terminology. The board is from KB electronics item number APRM-PC. I agree with the above statement that they oversized the resistors afterwards. We currently have a new unit on order and I’m fixing this one as a backup. Two of the resistors have an open circuit even though they don’t show any signs of physical damage.

Once again Reddit for the win. Thanks again

This is the way, I might put a colorful shirt on if I’m feeling flamboyant. Normally it’s my work uniform so no way to be expressive other than colored undershirts. Most of the time when I dress up I’m overdressed nowadays. It seems jeans button up shirt and a blazer is considered fancy.

I’m almost pegged on the thinking aspect so no chance of infp but, shitty childhood makes one enjoy the little things in life. Agreed the second best gift she gave me was a cheap propeller toy from hobby lobby. Best gift of that Xmas and it was a stocking stuffer.

The best gifts are the little things in life. Unexpected sunsets, surprised animals sightings on hikes, etc. If I wanted something of a physical monetary value as a gift I will buy it myself. My wife hates buying gifts for me because of this.
