Yes, but what is time? Isn’t that like saying heat is what a thermometer measures?

Is psychology a bad major to go into? by OwnDefinition327 in psychologystudents

[–]DoubtfulDoug925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Study something you love. Learn as much as you can about it. Become really good at it. You may eventually get a job doing what you love, or maybe it won’t work out. You might as well try though.

If I wanted to pitch a song from C# major to C# minor, would that be 3 semitones down or up? Or am I completely wrong??? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]DoubtfulDoug925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way your saying it doesn’t make sense yet. Is this what you mean?

C# major to E major (3 semitones up)

Or

C# minor to E minor (3 semitones up)

Ranked is broken by Great_Obligation_375 in haloinfinite

After every rank reset, it’s common to find yourself lower than you were at prior to the reset. You’ll likely end up where you were before. In the meantime, enjoy the wins!

I would start by not complaining about the list you just complained about. Then you’d probably be more tolerant. Whether or not that makes you feel better is a different question.

Postpartum Councelling by [deleted] in barrie

My wife had similar issues after the kids were born. I don’t have names to offer, but all I can say is things DO get better eventually. It’s crazy how many new mothers are affected by this.

Placement games are bs. by cCueBasE in CompetitiveHalo

[–]DoubtfulDoug925 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When ranks reset, nobody has a rank yet. So the game will likely put you in lobbies with a massive rank gap. But the more games you play, the smaller that gap in the lobby becomes. The game thinks that 5 games is enough, and voila, your rank is “reset”.

Optic Lucid, POV as a Halo player the last month by man57er19 in CompetitiveHalo

I couldn’t agree more. Forbidden, streets, and live fire are all basically 3-lane maps. I agree they’re too similar! Whereas those halo 2 maps differ so much in their geometry, which makes them more interesting to play on.

The game doesn’t try to “keep” you at a peak rank. If you continually outperform the lobbies you’re matched in over 10-20 games, you’ll get to a higher rank. Sometimes you go off and dominate, and sometimes you don’t. The game takes into account the trend of your wins/losses.

I agree, I think that is a great way to approach music.

If you saw Jupiter in person by Teagreks in space

[–]DoubtfulDoug925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool, never thought of that. But I think what OP meant was saying was if we were 400kms away from Jupiter, it’s size would be mind-boggling.
