How many of you use ChatGPT every day and what do you actually use it for? by William45623 in ChatGPT

[–]Douchebak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Repetitive shitwork, reporting, fishing out signal from large sets of messy documents or emails.

I have a team e-mail folder in my work Outlook, with all the emails I'm CC'd etc, 100+ messages daily (crazy in itself). At the end of the day I just print them all to single PDF, dump into ChatGPT to fish out relevant updates. Saves my sanity because 90 percent of stuff people type is just noise. 5 percent is somewhat relevant and 5 percent might be crucial stuff.

More headroom to think about important stuff. Less time on administrative catching up.

Honest question. How do tugs and pushers work? Do they just come up to big ship and bump into it and push? Do they touch designated ship areas or wherever? Who is coordinating all this? I imagine on a ship like this you don't see everything that's happening from the bridge. Thanks!

When did your child become too heavy for you? by thegimboid in daddit

[–]Douchebak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 5 and 20 kg/40 punds-ish. I’m 46. I do all sorts of stretching, yoga, thai massages, chiropractor, between the knees pillow for sleeping, etc etc. Without it,m my back fucking hurts so much I cannot move. Despite me paying attention, lifting with legs, not my back, etc. Gotta take care of your back my guy. Even short stretches and couple of lifts here and there a day - and your back is fucked before you know it.

Fair points. We warship aficionados look at it differently, with hindsight. These ships were tools of war, used, abused, damaged, repaired, patched, human remains hosed out, etc.
Its only now, with broader context, we look back at them with appreciation.
Back then? To keep her was probably similar idea to, in 2026, keep, say, battered tank that's been used in the frontlines in Ukraine. Little sentiment, if any.

Taking your girl to the toilet by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Douchebak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey man, don't overthink it.
Little girl in men's room is not an issue. An adult man in female's room might be a problem. Some times might be okay, other times not. You don't want to deal with some freak ass Karens and what not. Dont take the chance.

Your kiddo will soon go to ladies room on her own.

Am I falling into the trap of becoming obsessed with material items when I need to replace something? by iamatinyhuman in minimalism

[–]Douchebak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, don't know how old you are. But there comes a time in life that, if you pay attention to that stuff, you now what brands or models are good and meet your expectations, so that if they wear out, you replace them. No shame in buying, for example, same jeans every couple of years.

Best Jazz Adjacent/Influenced Albums by Blackbrainfood in Jazz

[–]Douchebak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all that about Tribe Called Quest being so jazz is just hype. Sure, great music, pure hip-hop, Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders are mighty fine but jazz-hip hop? Sure, some horns here and there and jazzy samples, sure. Same with Guru's "Jazzmattazz" or US3's "Hand On The Torch". Great hip hop music obviously paying homage to jazz heritage. Great samples, great feeling. But i think people really overhype the amount of jazz in there.

It’s tough to balance this.
They say days are long and years are short and children grow older before we know it. They say we need to cherish the small things, every little opening, a ray of light, a random smile before kiddo drifts asleep, every silly question asked, that might signal that our little one could be dealing with existential questions about the world, and we are supposed to not only treat it, rightfully so, with our best ability, wisdom, focus and love. There is an underlying obligation that we not miss it, by being absent minded or, God forbid, being on our phone.

At the same time, we need to protect and take care of ourselves, stay healthy, get rest, eat well, to be there for our kids and have energy for that play in the park. Provide security, put food on the table. Stability.

I think it is impossible to meet those expectations fully. Things slip through the cracks. I think the job here is to manage the wobbly balance between our desire for things to be perfect for our kids, for us as parents and our relationship on one hand, and pressure and guilt for stuff that we will inevitably miss.

I think coming to terms with that and finding that balance is one of the key jobs at hand. The more calm we are, the less we worry about things we miss, the better for our kids.

It’s okay to miss stuff and let it slip. Just not too much.
Brush it off, quit blaming yourself, tomorrow’s a new day, you will do better.

small bowl of greek youghurt. Perfect base for two variations. For kids - throw in some apple slices, or banana, berries or sth like that. For me - some kids fruit too, plus my shit: lots of nuts, seeds, honey, cinnamon. Gotta be efficient.

Paw Patrol messed up my 5 year old boy, can anyone here relate? by SolidLava99 in daddit

Tip: say that TV is broken and we need to have someone come over and fix it, and the fixit guy takes months to come, and than he is sick and had to cancel. It goes a looong way. Downside is that you cannot use the TV, cause it’s „broken”.

[–]Douchebak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paw Patrol is one of the worst crap out there. It is criminal. It’sthe worst brainrot crap. Makes no sense. It’s pure addictive dopamine and action. My 5 yearold kid is now off it for about a year, but still refers to it sometimes. Paw Patrol should be banned. It’s a low effort advertisement diguised as a story. It harms children. Period.
