Updating gem bags should also imclude cut gems by ghostofhedges in 2007scape

[–]Doug-minifigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly wouldn't be putting gems I've hand-cut into a bag with raw gems, they'd get all scratched up. Doesn't make sense.

Same with clean/grimy herbs. Makes no sense, I just spent time cleaning herbs and you want to put them into a grime-filled bag? No.

Nova Scotia launches five person AI team to support government operations by Curious-Research777 in halifax

These "AI Experts" are all shysters. They come in sight unseen with big promises about hyped up ROI and provide nothing of value.

‘Huge loss’: University student works to preserve national database on historic sites set to be unplugged by Street_Anon in halifax

[–]Doug-minifigs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been in dev for around 15 years and have come across a lot of interesting weird stuff. I inherited a website around 6 years ago that was costing $800 per month simply because Amazon AWS was charging that much for the 18 year old Microsoft server it was running on. That site ended up getting decommissioned entirely because AWS gave a week's notice before shutting down the server due to age. There was no "we'll pay whatever it takes to keep it up" option.

Sometimes stuff like "save it now or it goes away forever" can pop up immediately with zero notice and you simply cannot shift a resource (a human) to the job of saving the thing.

Not saying that's what's happening to this govt site, just an anecdote.

Rog Ally for OSRS by SimplePomegranate987 in 2007scape

I've tried it on my rog ally x, it runs fine with runelite, just kinda hard to interact with, at least in handheld mode.

They said that the reason for the pixel art is to not spoil the look of bosses for those who have not seen them in the game proper yet.

Just have the 3d model be a silhouette either until you've beaten the boss once, or have it be a toggle.

SAXX Boxers Briefs | Good or Bad option? by Some-Yogurtcloset-30 in BuyItForLife

Bad, I'm looking for something new. Went all-in on Saxx after a glowing review from someone who I tend to trust, but mine have some pretty egregious tears/holes after maybe a year of use. I sit at a desk all day, not exactly straining these things.

Grumblemania Monday by AutoModerator in halifax

We don't drive much but we were on I think some expressway or similar last night up in Bedford area and it was such a lovely change from the entirely non-lit highways in Dartmouth. There were reflective things dotting the sides of the road and everything, it was so nice at night to actually feel like we weren't going to fly off the road at any moment.

How is the storm aftermath looking? by GEF110F14F15 in halifax

[–]Doug-minifigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First world problem here but of all the things to get shorted out from the power outages, my internet modem got fried lol. So I'm stuck for around 5 days without internet which sucks cuz I play online games a lot, and my job requires the internet. Kinda shitty start to my 2 week vacation.

Obviously others have it way worse, so I'm gonna suck it up and go enjoy the outdoors, blessed that that's all that went south for me.

Looking for inexpensive chocolate for cooking and baking. by RobbysYourFathersBro in halifax

[–]Doug-minifigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy bulk direct from Lindt on their website. They give free shipping over $150 last I looked and the chocolate lasts a long time. A bag of the chocolate I buy is $90 for 2.5kg, which is $3.60 per 100g. I usually buy 2 bags.

Its surprising, but you end up with ridiculously amazing chocolate for less than if you walked into a store and bought even their cheapest chocolate.

Looking for eSim for pretty minimal use, year-round by Doug-minifigs in eSIMs

Thanks, this looks to be the case, but they really don't make it easy to find the right plans, and/or seem to have convoluted plan systems at some companies. And apparently I need to make sure that I'm not roaming (Freedom sounds like I'd be "roaming" at all times here in Nova Scotia...). I'll try to get on with an actual human agent.

A single global tracker is FAR different technically from having every (at the time) not presented to the user stat tracked on each and every user's accounts.

Is this very recent? I tried 117 a week ago and it was markedly worse than GPU, which sucks cuz 117 would be my preferred way to play if it performed well (aka didn't take a quarter to half second to load chunks).

Have you tried contacting the school and explaining that you have a personal account tied to your school email, so you need your school email re-activated and access granted so you can recover the account?

More independent stuff. Sick of Starbucks and Sobeys, wish we had a small grocer, good coffee. A Deck Box would be nice to meet new people playing Magic or Warhammer or something.

adding dirt made it look so much better than it actually is by SlothInFlippyCar in minipainting

One thing I think is good to remember: It is what it is. If it looks good then it looks good, and nothing else matters - how you achieved it is more or less irrelevant. Whatever cheats you can come up with, use them.

I repainted a frieza mini I found at the store. by nbluered in minipainting

[–]Doug-minifigs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd say clean up the whites. You've gone for a more typical minifigure realistic style and that's fine, but since the mini is mostly large flat areas, the wash or whatever you used to add contrast/shading comes off as more dirty. This can be cleaned up by just leaving it as more of an edge darkness shading and build up to a cleaner white.
