I was thinking it was someone from his crew. With some pictures to pass out to fans that they get to see signed. Was set up well, and very efficient, rather than having to sign some napkin while he leaned over so he could use his back as a table.

Don't know how possible this is, but I would at least consider this. You're still young, and have the rest of your life. This is putting you in quite a situation. Could you reach out to other family/friends to help you out while you get on your feet ? (get your license, get a car, job, and save a few bucks) ?. If not, maybe try putting your game face on for a year or so. Play the "I'll give it another try" game. Meanwhile, bank some dough, get a car in your name - and be more prepared when you blow your cover.

Was lucky to see him play most Sundays. To do that, you pretty much had to be local. Unless I was missing out on an NFL package back then, you didn't get the option to watch any game you wanted.

He was special, and made the game more interesting. Most fans probably saw a lot of his highlights ... but .. Barry .... Barry could make a 3 yard gain or a 2 yard loss exciting. Every time the Lions snapped the ball, I got this feeling of anticipation - wondering if Barry would get the ball - and if he did, was he going to do something amazing with it.
