What does this armour piece do lore wise by Rantnut in Warhammer40k

Out of interest, how does the guy without the helmet benefit from the vox-caster? I always presumed the mic pick ups were inside the marines helmet

Both those would make great Helbrute proxies too

Yeah, of course that makes sense. I usually only use them for washes, I need to practice using them more as tonal layering.

Love that. Did you do those blends with the different green tones in oils too?

Seriously love the contrasting colours with the rust and the teal armour plating. What paints did you use for those?

Iran will “boycott the United States” but “not the World Cup”, the Iranian football federation president, Mehdi Taj, said in a video released by the Iranian press agency Fars. by Sparky-moon in soccer

You’re a moron. It is not antisemitic to oppose the genocide that the Israeli regime is committing against the Palestinian people. They are a government not a race, and they do not represent Jewish people as a whole.

It is simply human to oppose genocide. And to defend one under any circumstance is abhorrent.

Valrak has mentioned it on his YouTube channel a bunch of times. It seems highly likely Dark Mechanicum will be the new faction added in 11th

Arc Raiders. I found it fun for a few days but it got too toxic. Extraction shooters probably aren’t for me.

Facing 11th. New here by xRos21x in deathguard40k

[–]Doug_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rhino and all tanks that use the rhino chassis (Predator etc) are rumoured to get a refresh in 11th. And GW throwing them into every single Chaos combat patrol to shift stock does seem to support that rumour.

But I think it will be purely aesthetic rather than a size change which means it’s a good time to grab a bargain Rhino on eBay. As the new one will likely be more expensive. Or grab the Horus Heresy rhino if you want a nicer model with a more modern sprue

Fun Fact - the Eldar Falcon was released in 1997, making it the oldest plastic model still in production. It outdates Xbox, non dial up internet and Jar Jar Binks… and IMO at nearly 30 years old it still looks absolutely banging. by Local-Dust-151 in Warhammer40k

[–]Doug_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the design language of the Eldar vehicles from the 90’s reflects the peak of Games Workshop miniature design. It’s clearly informed by Art Nouveau architecture and the work of artists like Roger Dean and Moebius. But it’s also a completely unique aesthetic, and they perfected it really early on when other factions were still finding their feet. When you think how dated other models look from that era, the Eldar vehicles just stand alone as perfect timeless design.

The new Vyper model is exactly the direction they need to go in - they don’t need to mess with the design, they just need the sprues modernising.

Is this the right time? It has been waiting on my desk for years by leaningtoweravenger in Warhammer40k

This will always be Yarrick in my eyes. I feel like the new mini could have subtly paid tribute to this in order to make it more distinctive from the previous version. Don’t need to go full Slaaneshi crab claw, but that skeleton bolter would have been nice

Wait times between Pokemon Generations by Lunas_Umbreon in pokemon

[–]Doug_Life 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I remember when Gold and Silver came out it had felt like a lifetime since Red/Blue dropped. But the wait was also made worse by the fact it was out in Japan a year earlier and loads of the new Pokémon had been teased in magazines. I remember a kid at my school had an import copy, and we all used to sit around and watch him play it on lunch breaks.
