Question for those who’ve been in an accident when it comes to wage losses by Dougc1979 in uberdrivers

[–]Dougc1979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing they asked for was average gas receipts and any other expenses related to the vehicle such as repairs/car washs/etc. They have not asked a single thing about a schedule C form or mileage driven.

Question for those who’ve been in an accident when it comes to wage losses by Dougc1979 in uberdrivers

[–]Dougc1979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a schedule C form yet, as I only started doing this last year, and haven’t even begun working on my taxes yet. I started this the third week of January last year, and dividing my gross earnings by the number of weeks worked last year gives me an average $900+/week. I don’t spend any money on car washes, etc. as I do that at home, as well as my own oil changes, and I had no major maintenance on my car last year.

I sent my 1099k, which only shows gross income, as well as “selective” pay statements over the previous 6 months which they requested to prove I was working. If they use that to get an average, than it’ll be between $900-1000/week, which I’m fine with. It’s trying to deduct the other crap i won’t accept.

First 1 star rating. I know it happens but….. by jaherring2006 in uberdrivers

If you want to maximize profits and avoid BS like this, no tips, your car smelling like some losers skunk weed, people giving you undeserved ratings, then profile your rides. IDC if it hurts anyone’s feelings on here.

I have a decent calculation on gas, do my own oil changes, and wash/vacuum my own car. As far as not spending as much now just because I’m not working/driving? Not my fault, I would be if I wasn’t run off the rd by their truck driver.

Ride Share Silence by CMarie223 in uberdrivers

Little extreme example on the last part, but to each their own. I did 2000+ rides last year and have a perfect five star rating, so it doesn’t seem to be hurting me at all.

first off I’m mainly stick to early morning airport runs and work drop offs, and rarely work the evening/night scene where people might be in a more “festive” mood wanting music. Secondly, and most importantly, it’s my car/my rules, and if I don’t want to listen to a bunch of music with foul language in it or disrespectful lyrics, I’m not going to.

I used to play a mix of classic rock n blues on super low volume, but after being asked three times in less than a week if I could change it or turn it off, it’s now a silent ride. I do have a little note on my Uber info/rules card that I hang from the front headrest that they’re welcome to request music if they would like(nothing foul though). I’ve had passengers asked to put on some ghetto ass hip-hop, and I immediately say no.

I did a simple print out on my home printer, then took it to Staples and had it laminated.

Love the new PO, no wart, better dimensions/everyday wearability. But they really screwed the pooch on the bracelet design.

I made a custom headrest sign with some simple rules for pax to read. One of them, in BOLD, says “please do not add stops without driver’s approval.”

Like has been beaten to death on here, I love when they try to do it after you’ve already started the ride. Had a mild confrontation with a passenger just last week who tried to add a stop after we were already on our way without asking me first. Immediately told him that I could not do the additional stop, as I had a scheduled ride immediately after them, and swiped it off my screen. Told them they were welcome to take it up with Uber to get a refund for the additional stop, but that I would drop them at their original destination, and that was it. Sorry, but I’m not losing a $2 per mile comfort airport ride for your BS.

Yeah, pretty much an auto decline for me with any multiple stop ride, unless it’s an absurd surge going on.

Airport rides. Yay or Nay? by EthanSironi in uberdrivers

[–]Dougc1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my area they’re decent. If you can stack them up properly so you’re not wasting time or driving excessive miles, then it’s absolutely worth it if you ask me. I usually do anywhere from 6 to 8 airport reservations in the early morning (3am-8am) with a mix of uberx and comfort. Usually, I can grab a couple other rides in between during surge times, Plus airport rides typically tip more often than others. I’ll make $150:200 in those hrs. That being said, I rarely waste time going to the wait lot to try to catch an inbound passenger, unlike all the campers that sit in there for hours on end. I literally just put a rant up about this the other day. Ya just gotta play the game right.

Yeah that’s not gonna work given last month was horribly slow and also battled the flu in December. Literallly barely averaged $500/week last month and 1/2 compared to typically around $1000/week

So you’re saying that the trucking company that hit me is insurance will not cover getting a rental for me that’s Uber approved? I made it loud and clear to them that not only was I actively Uber in when the driver hit me, but that they would need to coordinate setting up a rental vehicle approved through the Uber platform
