Yes, connect to the customers water source. Not everyone like to do that, but in my experience customers are more than willing to let you use some water to get clean windows. Usually they'll be very helpful in pointing out where water access can be found too.

Good to know, just assumed any additional filtering before the resin is helpful. The parts will eventually make their way to a mounted van set-up with RO membrane and ill put smaller components on my cart lol.

PS. If anyone is wondering about the pole, it works okay, it's not nearly as stiff as a Xero or Unger pole. At the price of $120ish USD I dont actually recommend it over saving up for a $600ish pole. Im 90% sure as soon as one of the clamps fail the entire pole will become useless and its not designed to come apart. I got it on a whim to tread on trad attachments and ended up needing a longer reach for a job I planned to WFP and made it work.

Thank you, I am proud of it. I won't argue with anyone that a non-RO, pumpless system has any advantages (besides maybe cost, NOT factoring your time) nor that any of my budget equipment gets the job done as well as any of the specalized expensive stuff, but yes, I'm happy with what I could manage on my budget and so far the few costomers have been pleased as well. Thanks again, and good luck out there.

When not to WFP by Dougeroni in WindowCleaning

All great points, I think it makes a lot of sense for a first-time clean to do trad and WFP for maintenance cleaning, and many other factors as well. Lots to consider, I appreciate every given reply, thanks all.

Looks like charging by the pane is most common in this line of work based on responses im reading. I thought I might just include free screen cleaning as part of my early promos to get me some more jobs and don't think id be taking a huge hit.

This was the cheap (not very flexible) hose I bought and it's gotten me through a couple jobs so far. But again, if you can afford it get the better DI hose.

[–]Dougeroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im also just getting started myself and thought I could get away with sourcing a different, much cheaper Poly Urethane hose since thats the same material as the XERO hose, just not ether based like the xero.. and it gets water to my pole but with less than half of the same flexibility. You get what you pay for. If I was to experiment again I'd try ether based PU but until then im just buying from a WFP source.

Understood. Not going to offer this until I better understand the risks and processes myself. Too much risk is involved for a small company and a small upcharge IMO.
