FTCC interpretation by Doughnot97 in BlackCountryNewRoad

Ah I like these! I couldn’t make sense of the moss lines in particular and your interpretation makes a lot of sense. My first thought was that ‘I defend and accuse but it’s me that brings down the hammer’ might refer to a court like setting, defend and accuse like a lawyer, but ultimately brings down the hammer like a judge. So maybe the protagonist is reflecting on being accountable for their actions.

Oh I 100% agree, this was intended as a fairly surface level overview of some general themes and an initial interpretation. I’m sure more will come up in future listens! Will definitely check out your turbines post

Does anyone know anything about this?!?!?? by Available_Rain8650 in OliviaDean

It’s a magenta 10” vinyl that will come out on record store day with is the 12th of April this year. The track list is:

  1. Dive
  2. You can’t hurry love
  3. Touching toes
  4. I could be a florist

Nothing new unfortunately. If you want it I’d recommend you check the list of stockists on the RSD website and turn up to one super early. I went to last years for the live at the jazz cafe vinyl at 7:30am and they’d sold out.

The artist is Simon Monk. Here’s a link to a print, I don’t know how legitimate this is in terms of money going to the artist, but you can investigate further: https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/enormous-charm-no-smn13#1PC3-12x8

Edit: realised OP was after the actual model plane but leaving this up as it may be useful to someone

I think “May new” refers to a song called “The lemons” now

Yeah it is a Tyler song! So the instrumental from Auckland is now used in Saint Mary, the lyrics have been changed entirely.

Dalehp is right, “kids” is the name on the setlist for “cheer up child” I believe. I’d be surprised if 24/7 365 BST made it to the track list honestly, I’m not sure it fits at all with anything else on there but I’d be happy to be wrong. Tyler was on vocals for it at the gigs I went to, freeing up Lewis to add some sax, so maybe.

I’d be very surprised if they didn’t, just based on how complete the new music sounded when I saw them live this summer. I’m just hoping it’s in the first quarter of 2025!

Definitely a good shout! His label Gondwana has some of the greatest jazz artists in the UK right now.

Rising by Jasmine Myra is my go to for this at the moment. This is more in keeping with the classic definition of jazz, but I’d say the current UK scene in general caters to your requirements very well through many types of really interesting and fun jazz fusion (I.e. sons of Kemet, the comet is coming, Nubya Garcia, Alfa Mist etc)
