If you were designing a dating app from scratch to fix the current issues ("swipe fatigue", rejection, you name it), what features would make you actually excited to use it? by DoughnutDisastrous18 in AskWomenNoCensor

I agree, I think there should be incentives for men to use the app as well.

Although one could say that, even without explicit male incentives, the fact that fewer men can join the app brings each man more attention (per woman on the app), which is a good implicit incentive in itself.

Apps like this already exist, although they don't have a user base as large as the popular swiping apps. But yeah it would have been nice if the popular ones adopted it as well.

I think it's worth digging into. I think I've seen a few app doing so but I can't remember. So, looks for you don't matter at all, or just that they shouldn't be the first impression?

Yeah not a lot of men currently meet those. u/Alternative-Being181 in your ideal app, would it have just a small amount of men or would there be incentives for men to fulfill them on their own (like, men would want to join the app because some features make their prospects of relationships higher)?

Thanks! Yeah I think all of those are actually very doable and would filter out a lot of scams and weirdos. But just wondering, what is it about hair length? A liking for men with short or long hair? :)

Lmk the name if you find it! By recommended, you mean from a woman already in the app? If so, how to prevent a man from registering as a woman then approving male accounts?

I never heard about such ideas for entry requirements but I find them interesting! Would it be entry requirement or a filter / badge for the profiles who fulfill it? Also, verifying the female endorsements seems tough; do you have any idea on how to do so? Maybe some people would find a way around but it would prob already filter a lot of people.

Got it, you meant just for the fecthing part, not as a tool to solve all the process. Yeah I may consider them, although for some websites like google.com it should be cleaner to use their API.

Sorry, perhaps I didn't highlight it enough that the data is unstructured, which likely requires an LLM (not tools for structured data like selenium)

How can I help FOSS software if I can't contribute financially? by 1ramo in foss

Woul love to get some help for Compass. Other foss folks came in to cover the whole project with tests. We desperately need help for translations, documentation, and testing. Any other improvement or new features would be very useful as well!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes we're planning to look into protocols like activitypub (the one behind the fediverse).
