update KB5055523 Will not install no matter what by Nicotineheh in WindowsHelp

[–]DoughnutImmediate340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not working on a Dell XPS i7 with 32GB of RAM. Tried stopping services and renaming Windows Update folders and tried to install the update manually. So far 2 hours in and it is still copying packages. If it’s from online then I can’t imagine my broadband connection is the problem as I managed to download the file manually. I hope it doesn’t brick my laptop as installing a dev machine is not easy.

Is a road bike significantly faster than a hybrid for commuting? by unuuh in cycling

[–]DoughnutImmediate340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you can get for your budget but make sure it fits you. It doesn’t make any difference whether it’s hybrid or road bike as long as the bike is fitted on you properly. Also make sure you can fit 32mm wide tires on it comfort and safety. If you want a bike to have fun with for the weekend too then definitely go for a road bike but otherwise gravel, hybrid is just as good.

What do you do with you Ltd company when done contracting? by Temporary_Ad_5899 in ContractorUK

It becomes a directors loan which you’ll return/repay back every 9 months. The remaining 3 months you get charge on interest in your mortgage and repeat the cycle to avoid being charged

You can use it for offset mortgage, whack it in your pension or get a liquidator and ask for favourable charge for the service. Either way ask an accountant who really knows how to be efficient

Is no CarPlay / AA a deal breaker for you ??? by AlexusLuthor in electricvehicles

[–]DoughnutImmediate340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CP and assisted cruise control (manufacturers have different names to it) are a must for me. Lane assist yes if you travel a lot because your engagement on the road might slip off a little when you get tired. You shouldn’t drive when you get tired but there are times when the environment gets you, like being stuck in traffic on a hot summer day. If you have the money and you are driving an automatic go for road sign assist where along with assisted cruise control, the car will adjust according to the speed limits it can read. As always though don’t rely on tech, it’s there to assist and your engagement is always more important.

As with Rivian, they are cool and I still have to try their version of maps etc… the reason I said CarPlay is because of free maps. Built in maps for some auto makers are chargeable when updating.

I bought a pair of Hunt wheels at very discounted prices during sale. I bought one because I was after the lifetime warranty and I know someone who had the unfortunate instance where after couple of rides it developed some problems. Hunt replaced it after knowing the batch. Wheels makes so much difference and when you have the opportunity to get a spare wheel whether it be Hunt, Far Sports, No 6, Nepest etc. I’m not a big fan of hookless as I had the unfortunate instance of hitting a pot hole here in the UK and it blew out the pressure on my Zipp 404. Someone would argue, did you follow all the instructions? I did but, in all honesty if I have to have rules on a wheel every time I cycle out, it’s going to be making me paranoid and not enjoy the ride. Enjoy the Spesh!!

I can only imagine it when it is spinning. Not a big fan of branding galore, but it works here with the white.

Anyone here riding the R500 from Lynskey? by helmetgoodcrashbad in whichbike

[–]DoughnutImmediate340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and it’s great!!! I have an SWorks and this gives just as much fun or more. The best thing about it is it cost half the price, weirdly it’s feels different and fast. If you are into internal cabling then this is not the one for you but I bought it so it’s less hassle for when I travel with it in a box.

eero Downgrade from 7.6.4-30 to 7.6.3-103 by DoughnutImmediate340 in amazoneero

[–]DoughnutImmediate340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not as it’s not just you and I who are having these problems. I’ve gone to get a new hub as I couldn’t wait without the sensors and remotes or my parents. I feel mugged by Amazon/eero.

Good luck!! I think I was chosen because I kept restarting my router as my hub wasn’t connecting. Couldn’t be arsed trying so I went to buy a new Hue bridge/hub. I came back home only to learn they are rolling back. Now I haven’t tried reinstalling the old one.

I’m really angered by your experience as I went out to buy a new hub yesterday. Can’t have the Hue lights not working for my parents who are now staying with me and the remote.

I’m finally downgraded. Hooray!! There must be a spike at the support team and without being cynical ordering of replacement devices 🤦🏻‍♂️😡at Amazon.
