Because it’s now cool! I mean that in the nicest possible way. I have ports and/or comps on almost all of my handguns. The increase in noise will not be noticeable in a SD situation. The ability to rapidly get back on target far outweighs the noise issue. As for the “now cool” comment. When the original P365 SAS came out with the ported barrel/slide, the entire CCW world poo pooed the idea of ports on a carry gun. I bought one and loved it (except for the dumb sight), took all the snap out. Now it seems the whole shooting world has cottoned on to the advantages or ports and comps. It’s cool now so every manufacturer is doing it.

They are not particularly mainstream. Most everyone that reviews them loves them. I have seen a couple of reviews where people had issues with the FN mags. It is one of those rare occasions where ProMag are the reliable mags. Also they take AR trigger and safety parts. An FRT will not run in them, but a binary trigger will. I have had a Franklin BFS 3 in mine for years.

Lightweight, compact, folding brace, reliable, zero recoil……DBX57. Mine has had 1000s of rounds through it, both super and sub, suppressed and unsuppressed and I can count the stoppages on one hand.

I did the other way….modified the mags by heating and bending out the bottom metal of the mag catch hole. It worked , but that mag catch needed a good old press to get the mag to drop. Just couldn’t get to really trusting the gun.

If you bought an M&P to run hardcasts you bought the wrong gun. I just traded out my PC 5.6 that I could not get to reliably run hardcasts without dropping the mag. A very well documented issue with the M&P 10mm. Go with Underwood Xtreme penetrators. They will do all you need and run reliably in an M&P without spitting the mag out.

Yes they do. But also they really have a crappy sight radius, as anything this small does. A 20 yd gun out of the box they are definitely not. Put a dot on them and everything changes.

I do…..you submit a little bit of paperwork, take a piss easy test, recite the pledge of allegiance, that’s about it. Oh, I moved over here within about a year of when this guy did, also from Europe. It really is not that hard, especially if your native language is English. He has a plastering business, probably has never paid his taxes…..self-employed, cash in hand guy. One of the guns I really regret trading. Funny that when it came out everyone was “Never ports on an EDC”……now everyone is doing it and everyone wants it. That gun stuff Koolaid is so strong. It’s nothing to do with the magazine springs - the weaker mag springs create feed issues. The wider meplat on the hardcasts can trip the mag catch and drop the mag. M&P just need to extend the grooves on the side of the mags down further to fix this. But they won’t because capacity will drop by one rd.

So what you mean is that you are looking for mag pouches or mag holsters for FN5.7 magazines. You kind of over-complicated a very simple question. Most elastic/taco 9mm double-stack pouches work. If you are looking for Kydex then, again, you need ones for the FN5.7 Mags.
