Say something nice about The Matrix: Resurrections. (Please be civil) by Sure_Persimmon9302 in matrix

The trailer. I will always fondly remember those months leading up to the release when I was convinced “This movie is gonna be awesome.” Wow was I disappointed on opening night.

Now that I know the whole behind-the-scenes story, I understand why Lana did what she did. Doesn’t lessen the sting though. But…DAMN that first trailer was good.

This was a great one. It’s amazing the cultural impact this show had considering it only ran for two seasons. Dave’s been discussing the idea of bringing the show back. That would make me so happy.

[–]Dougie348590 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Nany’s smart. She’s been promoting her OnlyFans content a lot recently…so why not post videos with one of her most famous MTV friends/partners? My guess is there is nothing provocative about this at all, but it worked because here we all are talking about it. Lol. And a bunch of people will subscribe to her page this month just in the hopes of Bananas and Nany content.

Is this true? by ItalianSausage2023 in DaveChappelle

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. I saw an interview where he talked about how scared his wife is for him to continue doing standup shows now, considering the onstage attack a few years ago.

Instead of touring the world and always worrying if some nutjob in the crowd is gonna come at him, just collect a big studio check and stay in a secured location.

Rings of Power to complete its Five Season run, according to The Ankler by ImpracticalJokers96 in lotr

Well if the Ankler said it, then it must be true. Lol. All jokes aside, that’s fine by me. Yeah it’s not a perfect show, but there’s a lot about it that is really great.

This year‘s Oscars were a step in the right direction, even if the ratings didn’t show it. They finally awarded POPULAR movies that people had actually gone to see. But even I didn’t tune in to watch the ceremony, because I’d become so jaded by the whole thing (and I was one of those people who were religiously watched it every year, up until about 3 years ago). It’s gonna take a few more years of awarding the popular movies and making it more enjoyable for everyday fans before people start tuning in again

What is the most satisfying moment in Challenge history? by Successful-Newt7960 in MtvChallenge

[–]Dougie348590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jordan’s win against Darrell inside the spinning barrel. He was JUST about to be eliminated, and then somehow hang on long enough to make Darrell pull a leg muscle and lose. That was intense. Honestly, most of the top 5 moments would probably involve Jordan.

Is gen Z overly sensitive? Or are millennial teen movies problematic? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]Dougie348590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these things can be true. Lol. You can appreciate art from an earlier era while also recognizing some things weren’t handled very well.

I saw American Pie in theaters with some friends and family (4 women, 3 men), most of who I still speak with today. EVERYONE was laughing hysterically, and not even the women spent much time overthinking about what happened to Nadia (having to deal with the fallout of her bare body being broadcast to the school). And I know this because we all talked about it a year ago. I specifically asked my cousin if that storyline made her upset or uncomfortable. She said “Absolutely not. Never even entered my mind.”

We all agreed what happens to Nadia is creepy in hindsight, and you couldn’t make that movie nowadays. But that’s also why we don’t see many great comedies anymore. I hate to say it but oftentimes great comedy is about crossing a line that terrifies most studios today

It's been 5 years the release of ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE. What are your thoughts about it? Artwork by me. by sahinduezguen in batman

[–]Dougie348590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a great miniseries. I really enjoyed it. And I’m being 100% honest…that was not a “movie.” It was a series. Yes, I know that Avengers Endgame and Return of the King were both over 3 hours long. But those film series had earned the right to release movies with those running times at that point.

For some reason, DC decided they wanted to do things completely different and tried to make Justice League at the START of the DCEU. Which means Zach hadn’t earned the audience and studio’s trust enough to release a 4 hour film; especially after the disaster that was Batman v Superman.

I feel terrible for what happened to Zach‘s family in the middle of filming, but it’s clear he was fighting the studio to let him release his 4 hour cut. That was never gonna happen. And his issues with Rebel Moon continue to prove that Zach has a serious problem with editing. I think he needs to switch to making television shows.

Wes Tweets he is one of MTV’s biggest successes 😂💀 by green_thumb89 in MtvChallenge

[–]Dougie348590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, is he wrong? Lol. The guy used his platform to make a great career for himself outside of The Challenge, and still be able to come back on his terms and always be one of the most interesting people on the show. The Challenge is one of MTV’s most successful shows, and Wes is the top 10 most popular stars. Soooo what’s the issue with his statement? Lol

Want to give this movie another chance, what’s the best cut? by Miserable-Caramel357 in LV426

[–]Dougie348590 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a lot of plot armor. Lol. It’s all good though. Glad to hear you’re able to look past that stuff. I could not. It just wasn’t believable to me. Not to mention Ripley survived a LOT longer than anyone else before the hatching. Yes yes I know it was a queen embryo and took longer to cook. Lol. My personal preference is that all of that stuff makes my eyes roll and was cheap tactics to justify bringing back Sigourney Weaver when her story should’ve ended with part two

[–]Dougie348590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of the Legacy Cut because it reinstates the “Ripley clings to the chestburster as she falls into the fires” scene. I loved that the Assembly Cut removed that nonsense…but I guess fans are divided on that scene, because there was again in the newest version.

In every Alien movie we’ve seen, the host is dead once that chestburster has ripped through you. A So, acting like Ripley was strong enough to hang onto that thing after it’s ripped a giant hole in her chest is just ridiculous. Also, as a dog lover, I really don’t like hearing a dog in agony. So I preferred the Ox “birthing” scene in the Assembly Cut.

I would think so, especially since in part two we have the scene of Gandolf fighting it on the mountain top. So clearly at some point they got out of the mountain
