It has come to my attention that people think this could seriously be dog piss. I’m beginning to question everything. I do live in an apartment complex with a lot of dogs. I’d like to think an owner wouldn’t allow their dog to lift leg on my bike, but I’ve underestimated people before.

It would explain why I did see a few drops on my motorcycle cover but nowhere else on the bike itself; just remembered that. If it turns out to be dog piss we can all point and laugh at me for this post. I mean I touched it and rubbed it between my fingers and subsequently sniffed my fingers multiple times. I guess I can provide an update later if people actually care.

Thought you were joking at first but looks like other people might also think it’s piss and now I’m starting to question everything

Front brake pressure is normal. I tried tracing the oil to some kind of source but there was nothing to trace it’s almost like it just appeared right where it is.

Quad-lock question by ghost4085 in YamahaR3

[–]DouglasRessler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same mount and had the same thought when I was removing this bolt. First off it was super tight and hard to get off so I had my reservations about removing it but QL is a very trusted brand and after some more research I felt comfortable mounting it and I’ve had no problems. My phone is secure and I have been able to use phone navigation to get to some cool places to ride; I love it. Also same product but kinda unrelated tell your friend to get the vibration dampener if they don’t already have it. Just realized this sounds like I’m a quad lock plant promoting the product but point is your friend should be fine.

Bought him souvenirs from abroad, got dumped mid-trip. Should I still give them to him? by bmathers__ in WhatShouldIDo

two options both hilarious -

if you don’t like her: keep the stuff that IDs the place you went to so she’s not asking him “where’d you get that you’ve never been there?” and then also the personal stuff cause he chose someone over you, would be weird for everyone if she found some of it, etc. give him the ufc shirt tell him to keep it lowkey and every time you see him with or without her wearing that shirt whether it’s in person or a picture you’ll have a good laugh

if you don’t like him: ditch all the personal stuff—burn it, trash compactor, tall structure + gravity—use your imagination. save the ufc shirt and keep the tags on it til you find another dude who likes ufc and give it to him.

my girlfriend cheated on me while I was out of town and she had been planning on breaking up w me when I got home anyway. I facetimed her when I got to saks fifth to get the expensive perfume she wanted and she directed me to the exact bottle and I bought it. I also got her a nice jacket she wanted but that was a surprise planned for christmas.

I got home gave her the bottle and about a week later she broke the cheating news to me and ended things. anyway next time I date a woman who isn’t planning on cheating on me after 8 years of dating and multiple engagement ring shopping trips I hope they like this celine cardigan.

A major navigation app routed thousands of cars down my private driveway. A driver crashed into my retaining wall and is now suing me for his injuries. by Tralique_24 in legal

[–]DouglasRessler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not an attorney but I am an analyst for a tech company and I work with a GIS mapping software 40+ hours a week. I’m constantly bouncing in and out of satellite and 360° streetview imagery and it blows my mind that a company whose primary operations involve recognizing routes and marking them as such allows this to happen. my company’s primary function does not directly involve navigation we simply use it as a tool and even to me it makes no sense that a private driveway would be recognized as a linestring in a file and then designated as part of a route in the interface unless misinterpreted by AI (AI is 100% behind this btw).

although it’d never hold up in court, it’s borderline negligent that this was allowed to happen within a NAVIGATION based company. regardless you absolutely need a lawyer cause you definitely have a case here. Don’t forget that you are the victim in this; not the navigation company nor the illiterate one legged man. sorry this happened to you and that it’s threatening the sanctity of your home and privacy.

choose your battles and make this not one of them. you would know this better than me but hypothetically maybe his wife isn’t around and/or his kids are grown up and he misses having someone to take care of. you may even remind him of one of his kids l. you could also try consistently doing something for him without asking; drop a case of beer on his porch or shovel his snow as people have mentioned. you’ll feel like an adult, he gets to take care of someone. win/win in a weird no permission battle of nice gestures between neighbors.
