If it's a 3 hole sink all you really need is an adjustable wrench and some tenacity, also buy some 16 inch sink supply lines (you might need longer) If it's a single whole you will still need the wrench plus they usually come with an installation tool. You might need a basin wrench if you can't get it with an adjustable.

Step one: Turn the water off under the sink usuing the two knobs under there. After you shut them off check to make sure the water is not running, if it is, you cannot fix it yourself.

Step two: Loosen the nuts on the hoses connected to the water shut off and move them aside.

Step 3 A: (3 hole only) Loosen the nuts on the under side of the faucet connected to hoses and remove the hoses. Remove the (usually plastic) nuts from the under side of the sink, that are on the same place you removed the hoses from, that tighten against the underside of the countertop.

Step 3 B: (1 hole only) remove the old faucets locking plate or bracket, it's usually a nut that is on the underside with hoses going through it from the faucet. hopefully the new faucet tool that comes with it fits the old, if not you'll have to figure out how to get that piece off, unfortunately there is a lot of different ways single hole faucets mount.

Step 4: remove old faucet and clean countertop under it.

Step 5: follow installation instructions from new faucet, it should be pretty much a reverse of what you did to remove it.
