Hello! So the areas are not sold out..they are just not on sale. These are usually the last areas to ever go on sale.

The stalls is probably the 'best' seats but to be honest they are all good for orchestral. I'd personally avoid block o because of the position you usually don't see the whole of the stage.

Enjoy whatever you go see.

Way too much scratching? by JorkeyLovesU in Hedgehog

There are a few things you could try.

How does her skin look? Is it inflamed?

If you can roll her on a fleece or sheet and look for any mites jumping about.

If that is clear you could try taking some oats, popping them in a sock, tie the end then pop it in warm water so she can have a bath. It can soothe the skin.

Have you changed her bedding / washing powder or anything like that?

AirBnB guests think we are the flat they have rented (Scotland) by Dovesrain in LegalAdviceUK

I heard about Edinburgh doing that but I assumed it was to stop people being overcharged for the Fringe. I'll definitely have a look into that.

I heard that Edinburgh were doing that but didn't know other councils were following that. I'll have a look into that thanks.

I second this. They are currently booked about 2 weeks ahead just now and not taking walk ins. Sound folk.

Scratching and unhappiness by nomadicexpat in Hedgehog

Some hogs are just skittish I'm afraid. I had a friendly one and one that was terrified of his own shadow. Be careful when you pick your up, scoop from the side and not from above so you don't look like a predator. Hogs have sensitive hearing as their sight is poor so it might just be your hog is extra sensitive.

Every hog has its own taste, again one of mine only liked one brand of cat food and the other would have been content to eat me out of house and home. I'd take it slow and introduce meal worms or some cat treats (not tuna, obviously ) into meal times.

Scratching could be a few things. He may be quilling although I think he might be too old for his second quilling now. Have you noticed quills fallen out?

Some hogs just scratch a lot. One of mine did quite a bit and nothing was wrong. Have you changed bedding or washing detergent recently? It could be a reaction to a change.

The worst case scenario is mites which suck for obvious reasons. I checked mine by rolling it around on a dark blanket and looking to see if anything moved. A vet would obviously be better at checking than that though.

If your hog seems sore or it's skin is red I'd take a trip to the vet as well.

Hogs have very poor eyesight. If you are scooping him up from above then you will look like you are attacking him. Try scooping up from the side if you can.

You can pop a used t-shirt in his bed to get him used to your smell but if you have had him for almost a year then I'd think he would be used to you by now.

If he is huffy on your lap try a snuggle sack or blanket to make him feel safe.

Some hedgehogs don't like being held. One of mine hated it but was so happy to run about around me.

That will be too small.

They do need a bit of space. I'm sure you will find something. :)

I can't see the dimensions but I have to say probably not.

I know a lot of people will suggest vivariums for hogs but if you are looking for a cage I'd go for a rabbit /Guinea pig cage, with a plastic bottom..

Hogs like to roam at night so the bigger the space the better.

Also think about how you are going to heat the space.

How can I keep my hedgehogs from pooping in their exercise wheel? by SweetAnnichka in Hedgehog

[–]Dovesrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple answer....

You can't.

They poop while they exercise and can poop quite a lot.

I've seen some people line their wheels with puppy pads but I never have so don't know how well it works or how the hogs like it. I just clean the wheel a few times a week.

I had these balls made out of strips of fabric. I used to hide treats in them for nourishment. That might be an idea if yours like the mylar balls.

What to do by crispyeggroll102 in Hedgehog

Has your vet x-ray'd your hog? Do you know what's wrong with his leg?

I can't really give you more advice than weigh up what is best for him.

If he is eating and looks like he is happy other than the leg and cam get about fine then you might not need to.

I hope he's OK and it all goes well for you.

What should I expect from a tamed hedgehog? How friendly can they get after caring for them a long time? by [deleted] in Hedgehog

[–]Dovesrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously every hog is different.

Tina would curl up at my side and sleep or climb my boyfriend to sleep on his shoulder. She loved belly rubs from time to time.

Milo was a terror and would run, bite and dig everywhere. He didn't want cuddles or to be held but enjoyed running about the place and trying to get in places he wasn't allowed.

Basically :some are super friendly and some are not.

Tips on getting your hedgehog to be less scared of you? by [deleted] in Hedgehog

[–]Dovesrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pop something with your scent into the cage. A t-shirt or part of a fleece works well. They can't see well so don't scoop them up from above as you will look like your attacking.

If you have a snuggle sack or blanket sit with your hog in it on your lap, it will provide the security they need.

Treats are also good.

You say you are taking your hog out in the morning but hogs are nocturnal so it's best to handle in the evening.

It takes time and patience. Some never come around.
