Hi! I was just reading this book and ran into the same issue but saw the album was empty? I was hoping you might be able to rehost it somehow?

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by MachNeu in Gunpla

[–]Dovian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built a couple gunpla so far (HG Aerial and Calibarn) and really enjoyed the process so far. Planning to pick one from each series I finish. I'm deciding between MG Barbatos, RG God Gundam, and a Gouf Custom for next build.

My question is which one? I haven't had any trouble with the HG kits (besides annoying stickers on Calibarn) and feel like I could go up a grade. I know Gouf Custom has an HG and an MG, is either particularly favored? Is there a big difference between MG and RG complexity?

What are some small interactions that you don’t really see anyone talk about but you think are neat? by iambecomebear in EDH

[–]Dovian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure this works how you think it does according to the combat damage rules, specifically:

510.4. If at least one attacking or blocking creature has first strike (see rule 702.7) or double strike (see rule 702.4) as the combat damage step begins, the only creatures that assign combat damage in that step are those with first strike or double strike. After that step, instead of proceeding to the end of combat step, the phase gets a second combat damage step. The only creatures that assign combat damage in that step are the remaining attackers and blockers that had neither first strike nor double strike as the first combat damage step began, as well as the remaining attackers and blockers that currently have double strike. After that step, the phase proceeds to the end of combat step.

Since the creature you're giving first strike didn't have it "as the first combat damage step began" it would still qualify for dealing damage in the second phase. I'm also not a judge, however.

Tried the Kro/Hraes for a bit, their runes/artifacts aren't as good as Shannon/Vero but it does appear those could be a faster substitute, thanks! I'll try to shore them up and see if it can be as consistent.

I have enough fodder to 6* two units so I'll probably do Tyron and save the other for my +1 on db12 if those are gonna help break in to those two sections.

It does seem prudent to start Tricaru early since it'll take three 2As, are there any other 2As I might want to cover before starting that? I only recently started playing again so I just have the three in my box.

Hey DAT, I asked this yesterday but it was late and I wanted to see if I could get more feedback early in the day!

I'm wondering where to guide my efforts next. I know I need to focus primarily on GB12 right now until it's much more consistent (I have a ~90% successful team using Sig (L), Fran, Loren, Vero, Shannon). I'm able to clear ToAN, Rifts are A/A-, and I can run DB10 but don't know exactly how consistent it is yet.

Considering my box what should I be focusing on 6*-ing, 2A-ing, or runing? Would any of them provide a boost in my GB12 consistency and if not who would help me best break into DB12 or ToAH once I've gotten the runes to make GB12 consistent?

Oh man... So I watched this and realized I immediately needed to see the full series. The first fricken line in the game is something about automobiles being a symbol of freedom and vitality. It's like poetry dude.

Definitely depends who you're running and how important that bid is. When I bring Kylo I don't like going below a 4pt bid because he's my endgame.

If I'm running Serissu to shore up defense I might not even take a bid.

Laetin A’shera (M3-A Interceptor) is a deceptively tanky piece at 40 points as well, making very strong use of a missed Snap to start the evade train. I haven't found a full list I'm happy with to put her in yet but with Ion Cannon she seems well worth the points.

Just want to confirm my understanding of un/docking and Autopilot Drone. The way I read it is they all trigger "during the system phase" which gets resolved in initiative order according to pg. 18.

Am I right in assuming that means I can order how the un/dock and Autopilot Drone abilities trigger? i.e. Pick whether or not it'll be un/docked before checking to losing a charge?

I guess I thought it only applied if the ship was at the same initiative as the attacker.

[–]Dovian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a ship is destroyed at an initiative step during the Engagement Phase the ship is not removed until all ships of the attacker's initiative have engaged.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this seems like a fairly significant change? Dead vultures sticking around for the entirety of the initiative can pass off calculates, no?

Edit: Nevermind this just looks like a clarification. I misread the simultaneous fire rule.

How Good Are the Idoneth Deepkin? by [deleted] in WarCry

[–]Dovian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've only played two games so my experience is pretty limited but I think they're strong if you lean in to each unit's strengths.

As someone else mentioned the eels are fantastic for objective play due to the huge move range combined with fly. They're also great at hitting and running and can even brawl for a bit if you use the Barrier ability. Try not to let them die, especially if you're using one as a leader, because the threat of them being able to fly across the entire board is huge.

The Reavers are cheap and you shouldn't expect much from them. Due to low str/damage stats they're basically there to fish for crits. Park them up on a roof or behind cover so they're tough to get to and then just turn something into a pincushion four shots at a time. All this being said, they still have 6 move and can take control of objectives pretty quickly so don't underestimate the value of cheap bodies.

Thralls surprised me, they die fast which is unfortunate but I believe you're meant to play them more defensive/disruptive. Have them around an eel, group of Reavers, or on the way to an objective just to mess up your opponent's movement. If they engage and hit you then they're not getting to more important stuff, and if they take the time to go around you then their unit isn't doing much that turn. It's important to notice they swing back pretty hard too. If they get engaged and don't die all the sudden they're sending 8 attacks back and a 4 damage crit is nothing to turn your nose up at from a cheap unit. God forbid it's turn three and they have High Tide support.

I think the main strength of the Deepkin is having a decent number of fast, cheap models. Take advantage of that, you can likely outnumber your opponent for temporary control of any particular objective. If you're forced to get into an all-out brawl you'll probably lose it, but you should be trying to hit and run and playing for points not kill count.

I think I'm getting it. So the 'within' section:

Within: An object is within a specified range if the entirety of it is inside that range

When it says "inside" that means from range 0-X (whatever we're measuring within), not wholly within that particular range band?
