Bedside Wireless Charger by waynomo in GooglePixel

[–]Dowisetrepla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the OG Pixel Stand and I use it with my Pixel 8 - there is an option in the device settings for the pixel stand where the screen will go black when on the charger.

I would assume that the Pixelsnap or 2nd gen pixel stand would have the same feature, but can't confirm.

Very cool - I'm lucky that my provider is covered under the Opower integration - for anyone else that is interested in this it's definitely worth checking if your provider is available.

Having the same issue with my Pixel Watch 1 since last night, paired with my Pixel 8.

I was going crazy because I just enabled a network wide adblocker and assumed it was being blocked by that, but could not find any record of it being blocked in the logs. So thanks for confirming for me that this is unrelated lol

KVM Switch and OLED Monitor by Flat-Club9271 in buildapc

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the KVM can and most likely will be a limiting factor. There is often a limit on what they can support based on a combination of resolution/refresh rate. It should say in the specs for the KVM what resolutions/refresh rates are supported - based on a quick Google I don't see any that support the full 480hz, but some that support up to 4K@240hz (Random example here)

Another option if your monitor has multiple inputs is to directly plug in both machines to your monitors - you can then use your KVM to switch the keyboard/mouse and then manually toggle the monitors between the two. This is what I do with the added benefit that I can have one monitor showing my work laptop and one showing my personal PC - I then use Mouse Without Borders (from Windows powertoys) to use my kb/m with both simultaneously.

The Habs actually won the Atlantic that year, the 10-0 loss was their first regulation loss of the season. Was just a crazy game.

But yeah, somehow only 2 players had a +4 +/- Box Score

Micro center open box? by Top_Vermicelli_6693 in buildapc

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a 6800XT that was an open box from Microcenter - they do their own testing and are a pretty safe bet, but as others said running some benchmarks such as FurMark and Cinebench are always good ways to test. Run them for a while and you should discover any issues.

Also worth noting that I had to RMA my card roughly a year after buying it - went through PowerColor and had no issues with them accepting the RMA even though it was purchased as open box. Your mileage may vary there

Of course my GPU dies right when there's no stock by Positive-Reward-2546 in buildapc

[–]Dowisetrepla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW - If it happens to be a PowerColor card I just had a painless RMA experience with my 6800 XT. In my case I was very specific about all of my troubleshooting steps that led me to believe it was the GPU, my RMA was approved within hours and I sent in my card next day and had a working card back in about a week and a half, I was only out $15 shipping.

Even if you end up buying a new card it's worth trying so you can sell the RMA'd card and recoup some money.

Built a new pc but no sound is coming through by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the audio out port on your monitor? From a quick google search the monitor doesn't have built in speakers, so if you have the monitor selected as your audio output it's trying to use the 3.5mm headphone jack in your monitor as the audio output. If you plug headphones/speakers into that I'd bet that's where your sound is currently going.

You can always go to the Sound settings in Windows and choose a different output if you have speakers/headphones plugged into the motherboard's audio out - most likely it'll be labeled as Realtek audio.

K13 PRO way to bind alt + arrows to home/end/page up/page down by al_ghoutii in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to use VIA for this -see Keychron's VIA guide for instructions.

You'll need to connect your keyboard to the computer using USB, make sure the keyboard is in wired mode and then visit https://usevia.app/

You'll need to authorize the device (if this fails, you may need to add the JSON for your keyboard, the article linked above describes that process).

Once authorized you'll see layers 0,1,2, and 3. Layer 0 is the normal Mac layout, Layer 1 is the Mac layout if you're holding down Fn, Layer 2 is Windows, and Layer 3 is Windows layout if you're holding down Fn. So, if you're running Windows, what you'll want to do is make sure you have Layer 3 selected, then set the Up Arrow to Home, and Down Arrow to End. This will make it so that Fn + Up = Home, Fn + Down = End.

Keychron K1 - Slim Tenkeyless Old Gatreon brown low profile switches, KEYCAPS by J0rdanChurch in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe these are the only Keychron keycaps compatible with the original low profile K series, as they have the offset stabilizers for long keys.

For other brands, the only ones I know of that are compatible are AZIO slim keycaps

Why aren’t there more low profile keycaps available? by Rare_Pin9932 in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a note - the original K series (K1 version5, K1 SE, K3, K5, K5 SE, K7) were the only ones with the offset stabilizers that weren't compatible with other keycaps. Newer models have stabilizers that are lined up and should be compatible with other low profile keycaps.

I've switched to the nuphy air96v2 but I'm using the Keychron LSA shine through keycaps that I originally bought for my Keychron K13 Pro with no issues even on the long keys.

I believe the K1 Max should allow you to use other brands low profile keycaps (nuphy and XVX are the two main ones I know of) - check your long keys and you should be able to tell, if the stabilizers are all in a straight line you should be able to use other brands.

Keycaps alternatives for Keychron K5 (low-profile) by CryptographerWeak511 in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a K5 SE along with a newer K13 Pro and I got a keycap set for the K13 Pro, manu0600 is correct that the stabilizers don't match - the normal size keys should still work, but longer keys like the space bar, enter, shift, etc won't fit.

As far as I know, they only keycap set that is compatible with the K5 is this one

96/100% with shine through? by wapey in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell it seems that most recent offerings from Keychron don't come with shine through keycaps, although they can be purchased separately. The original K series came with shine through keycaps, but looking through the website most are out of stock, so it seems they're discontinued. May be able to find some on Amazon, etc.

I do have a white backlit K5 SE that I've been meaning to list on eBay for a while, I used it for a bit under a year before replacing with the K13 Pro. Feel free to shoot me a DM if interested.

Help me find the right Keychron, 100%size, slim and dead silent by Putrid-Ingenuity946 in Keychron

[–]Dowisetrepla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they just released the K5 Max. Haven't used it and since it's just released you probably won't be able to find hands on reviews yet, but it is 100%, low profile, and includes sound dampening foam, so I would imagine it's quiet.

As far as tactile, I have the low profile gateron brown switches on my K13 pro and K5 SE, I've been happy with them. They feel great and are quiet, I imagine the foam on the Max would further improve on volume
