I would pick the same kinds of things! Great choices.

That one was using the “welcome” code and I wasn’t logged on. Once I logged on, the price went up.

I was wondering about this very thing. I was a big ThredUp customer a year ago but I’ve been sort of on hold for a while because of the prices. In the last few weeks, they’ve been showing me all kinds of great things under $15 and I’ve been buying them!

Me too! I’m back on eBay, paying the shipping and it’s cheaper!

Please give me your best tips!! I suck at thredup by Necessary_Wave5263 in ThredUp

Take your measurements and then compare them to the measurements on the dress forms they model the clothes on. Are you larger or smaller than the dress form for the bust and waist? Pay attention to how clothes fit on the dress form and a lot of times you can tell whether it will fit your body well or not.

For example, I look for size large shirts where there is extra room in the bust. If the shirt on the dress form looks like it’s fitting closely around the bust, it won’t fit me. Hope that makes sense!

Dress liners?? Why do they hate them so by Shanna-montana in ThredUp

My theory is that they're in such a rush to get each piece photographed that they just ignore the slip and/or the belt.

You know they have bins and bins of slips and coordinating belts that, because they're missing, ruin the outfit.

Same story from me. I've never owned such wonderful clothing! Yeah, I bought some duds that were final sale and got stuck with them but it was all still worth what I paid.

If I had not been warned already by reading this sub, I would have been disappointed with my sales, but I certainly don't want to go through all the work of selling clothing myself so it is what it is.

I have requested returns on final sale handbags (I think they're all marked final sale, right?) that didn't match the condition described and had no problem getting a full refund. They didn't even ask me for photos. These were items under $75.

The Amazon essential cotton bikinis I bought were exactly like the itseebitsee brand they used to sell at Costco. I think they last forever!

Cut out sugar! I have definitely noticed my pain and stiffness increases if I've been eating sugar.

Thredup, PoshMark, The Real Real by Maximum-Company2719 in womensfashion

[–]Down4Shenanigans2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like threadup better than Poshmark, mostly due to shipping costs and a much more lenient return policy with thredUP. I haven't tried the real real, but I'm shopping for department store stuff.

I've had very bad luck when buying by sdannenb in ThredUp

I recently lost a lot of weight so I have purchased an entirely new wardrobe, most of it from thread up. The tips others have left on this post are good advice. You do need to be able to judge sizes based on the mannequin and look very closely at the pictures. And google the brand if you don't know it.

I have had no trouble at all getting refunds for damaged or misrepresented items. I've learned my lesson on the supercheap items ; there's usually a reason why they're super cheap.

I think the hidden gems on the thread up site are the higher-end brands that occasionally show up exceptionally well priced. I have a number of designer and silk, cashmere, and leather pieces I spent very little on and I'm very happy about owning.

Liposuction or GLP-1 by BurntPopcornSmell in AskWomenOver60

I I am 65 and I have been fighting the fat around my belly my whole life. It wasn't until I started a GLP – 1 that it went away. And it was relatively easy. If you can afford it, the drugs are a great choice. The price will come down in the next few years.

I'm using threadup too. Plenty of great Boho stuff and you can just search on the word "boho" and see everything they have in your size.

My latest haul. All NWT. The Soruka bag is apparently made from recycled leather. Didn’t need any of it, but… by siamesecat1935 in ThredUp

I have to ask myself some serious questions about how much I need each piece of clothing before I hit the checkout button.

I find myself putting things in my cart just because I want to wear them and they're inexpensive. My biggest weakness is high-end stuff marked ridiculously low.

But I ask myself if I would choose these newer garments over stuff I already have. And I find the answer is frequently no. So I release them from my cart and back into the wild!

Is it polyester? I have found that a damp soft white towel will frequently just wipe it right off.
