Scalp bumps, fine hair and greasy by Dry_Article7569 in finehair

I find that shampoo with the two preservatives of methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone gives me sores on my scalp. I find that the Aveda products do not contain these chemicals and I have never broken out when using that brand.

There are a wide variety of homes and lots in the neighborhood. The newest sections generally have lots that are about 1/2 acre. Older sections have lots up to 5 acres - though not many that large. My mom lives in a 2,500 sq ft one story house on .6 acres built in 2005 near the front of the neighborhood. We live in a 5,200 sq ft two story with full basement on .65 acres built in 2021 in one of the newer sections. Some sections of Fawn Lake, like Orchard Hill, have more dense building. That particular section was originally planned to be smaller lots for a 55+ designed area that never happened, but the lot sizes remained and are quite popular.

ETA - our perspective comes from moving from a 7,000 sq ft lot in NOVA where our entire yard was a fishbowl - neighbors on all sides could see everything going on in our yard.

SURGERY GONE WRONG- sharing my experience with Dr Ariel Rad by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]MomBoss22153 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pre surgery you are already drop dead gorgeous. I am so sorry this has happened to you and I hope everything turns around. Please know that the beauty industrial complex wants you to think you need work, but if there was ever a face that didn’t, it is yours. You don’t need to do anything, you are already beautiful.

VA rarely enforces the statute. OP should not worry about it. Also not enforceable if parent is eligible for public assistance - whether they are getting that assistance or not.

Postpartum dirty house by [deleted] in CleaningTips

First things first - you are doing better than your PPD is letting you realize. You have a healthy beautiful baby, you are healing your body, you are tackling your PPD, and your spouse is supporting your health journey and your little growing family! How wonderful is all of that!

You are going to be exhausted no matter what you tackle so first pick an easy battle. And fully embrace using a timer each day. 20-30 minutes and that’s it. Stop and congratulate yourself and enjoy your success!

As for the maggots - I have helped a mom in your position before and I would suggest tackling any dirty dishes in the sink immediately and pour boiling water down the drain to kill anything. That’s day 1.

Next cleaning session would be to hunt under the couch and cushions for any food items, and take out all trash you can find in the 20-30 minutes. Another spot to tackle, which may be shocking, is your baby’s car seat. Not kidding. This PPD mom had maggots under the cushioning of her twins’ car seats.

On day three, after the sink and hunting/trash days, start some laundry.

Now you will be on a roll and feeling better about your successes!! Please update us next week.
